I lost track of the days.
Do I need to remind you every morning?

I need to stop forgetting about bringing lunch to work.
Kids On The Run || Jonah & Heather
Everything was prepared and she couldn’t do anything else, but wait. Although she knew he would be home soon, she couldn’t stop to worry and checking the clock, so she needed something to distract herself. So she picked up her book from the night table and sat down on the bed and continued the chapter she started to read last night. This actually turned out to work and distracted her mind, so she only looked up when the door to the bedroom opened.
Heather closed the book, put it to the side and stoo up to great Jonah. Even after all these years he could make her heartbeat skip even with a smile kiss. She smiled at him as he inspected the room and looked even a bit guilty, that she didn’t listen and already prepared the suitcases. “I know.” She replied and watched him to pick up their suitcases and followed him out of the bedroom and down the stairs.
Down she picked up hour handbag and the housekeys. “Do you need anything else?” She asked, before she left the house and closed the door behind herself. Heather looked at Jonah while he put the suitcases in the trunk of the car and knew how lucky she was to have him. Not everyone had the luck to find their soulmates and especially not so young, but the red head knew no one could make her happier, than Jonah did. She walked over to where he stand and hugged him from behind. “Thank you.”
Jonah had opened the trunk to the car and was putting the suitcases in place when he felt small, thin arms wrap around his lower waist with a following grateful statement to which he narrowed his eyes to and turned so that he was facing Heather then. He stretched his neck down and kissed her forehead. "We both need this." He said in response and then separated himself from her to open the passenger car door, closing it only after she was settled inside. He glided over to the driver's side and turned the car on as soon as he got in and drove out the driveway, taking one last look at their house before turning.
The weather outside was chilly for fall in the southeast, but then again Asteria usually didn't follow the world's climate. It would be warmer once they arrived in Florida and headed over to Daytona Beach. He turned on the radio to a low volume to play as background music as they drove the car into the ferry and parked where the usher said to do so. He relaxed as the boat took off and took hold of Heather's hand before looking over to her, his head still against the headrest. "You alright?" He asked her then, his voice casual but with a hint of concern. He was always concerned for her.
Ever since the day he found out that she struggled with an eating disorder, Jonah made it a point to be her backbone, to make sure she never fell back into those destructive patterns again. He wasn't sure what he would do with himself if she was ever suddenly gone form his life, it was heartbreaking even to think about so he usually tried to keep that subject out of the conversations.
Kids On The Run || Jonah & Heather
Finally it was Friday. Although Heather loved her job, weekeds were always nice and especially now, since Jonah suggested to spend the weekend outside of the town. After everything that happened the thought if escaping a bit was actually nice. Maybe that was also the reason, why she wanted to visit her parents. And while it was nice to be away for a little, she knew her place was here with Jonah. This was now more important that her secret, that she tried to hide from him, but at the same time she was scared the longer she kept it, the worse the demage would get. But Jonah needed her now and that was the only thing that counted now.
After school she drove home and take a bag from the closet filling it with clothes that she thought she could need over the weekend. Once she was done with packing her own things, she took a second bag and filled it with stuff for Jonah. The sooner they can go, the better it was. When she was done she left the bags on the bed and walked over to the kitchen to make some sandwiches, that they could eat later. Even though Jonah said he would take care of everything, she couldn’t just not do anything at all.
Every ten seconds she was checking the clock and waiting to hear the noise of the front door, when it opens. Everyone could have tell, she was excited. But for Heather it seemed nearly impossible not to be excited, then she saw this weekend as an opporunity to get things better between them.
Jonah knew the bags would be packed and Heather would be ready to go the moment he came home from work. He knew that even as much as he told her not to worry about a single thing for their small vacation, that she couldn't help but. She was a great wife and he knew her well. The moment he laid eyes on her senior year of university at Metis, he knew he would ask her to marry him. The two had practically grown up in the same small island all of their lives and never met or talked, even when they had so many of the mutual friends.
He knew that they both needed a break, both worked long and hard hours. It was always a nice surprise whenever he came home to a well cooked homemade meal as she usually arrived a few hours before himself, although he didn't mind the take outs a few times a week or whenever there was no time for anything. The couple was well off, more than the usual young married match because Jonah was the ceo of the elite bank in town, that privilege allowed for them to own a vacation home in the Floridian coast.
Jonah arrived home and took his suit off, hanging it up in the front closet in the foyer before walking up the stairs and opening the door to the master bedroom. A smirk on his face when he walked in and saw Heather waiting for him, suitcases on the floor ready to go. He took a few steps closer and kissed her lips once before scratching the back of his neck as he looked the room over, his hand lingered on the small of her waist. He knew that things had been a bit sketchy between the two, but he tried to ignore it, always doing his best to make sure she knew he loved her. "This weekend is going to be good for us." He said, shaking his head positively before moving to pick up the suitcases."I'll take these down to the car, the ferry out leaves at seven."

Just one more day until the weekend.
You shouldn’t eat so fast, that’s not healthy. Alright, be careful, okay?
I have no time to eat, ever. [Thought about his words, remembering his wife's past.] I'll eat some more when I come back tonight.
I will, I love you. [Heads out the door]
I hear you want a baby!
You talked to Heather then?
