Spirit: Critical to a Healthy Lifestyle

This blog focuses on the often missed and critical element to establish a healthy lifestyle - Spirit! The use of the word spirit has many meanings: a person's internal thoughts or beliefs, the manner in which a person approaches a task or handles an issue, an outward reflection of your inner self, actions that are synonymous with godliness, etc. This blog will discuss how to utilize spirit or a spiritualness to achieve a healthy lifestyle. Spirit is most likely the missing element in your health goal action plan. Spirit or spiritualness, regardless of your goals (i.e. Losing 30 lbs, running a marathon, competing in Ironman, bodybuilding, fitting into your wedding dress, etc), can make or break your health/fitness goals. To achieve your highest level of health, spirit must be added to the critical elements often identified as nutrition, rest/sleep, cardiovascular/aerobic fitness, strength training, flexibility, and core strength.
