who is jojo and why is he on a bizarre adventure?

before i forget to post this: call me rohan; i'm a big fan of this one silly anime, so i made this blog to write about headcanons. feel free to send asks my way with headcanons, opinions, etc.

i love the main character energy that he has, he truly is the most important character. i think this tweet is the big reason why araki couldn't put him in as the main character

theory: it's codominant. or incompletely dominant. joseph joestar, king of looney tunes logic, got his two genes that gave him full power of that trait. meanwhile, holy and josuke only inherited part of it. they don't have the full show of insane physics that joseph spends all of part 2 demonstrating, but that questionable vaguely-reality-bending logic still makes it into their lives.

joseph wasn’t using hamon at a high rate before he learned how to use it from the masters. it likely wasn’t enough to keep him looking young, anyways. he wasn’t living a life that necessitated using it that often— and afterwards, without pillar men or vampires rummaging through the world, why keep up? he had other things to do. school was awaiting him, and business.

and then, why not get to grow old? he can’t look like a teenager forever. after all, it’s the one thing that people close to him never got the chance to do. his grandfather jonathan did not get the chance to, caesar did not get the chance to. maybe it was his way of honoring them.

giorno: he might be fifteen, but he knows how cars work

jolyne: incredible driver, i know this

jotaro: he's a calm and level-headed driver, i trust him behind the wheel

josuke: he can drive well but remember to point out the exit or he will drive past it

johnny: i just hope his road rage luck isn't as bad as his backstory where he was shot while in line

gappy: does he remember how to drive

joseph: he's an adult but he also shouldn't be in the driver's seat. we wouldn't get into a car crash, but we would get far too close to a car crash. insurance companies hate him.

jodio: he is fifteen and i'm not sure that he knows how cars work

the first few many pieces of advice (or the first few times that he tries to talk to jotaro about this) are horrendous for jotaro. comments like "when i was your age, i was asking out all sorts of women" (which is less helpful already, when that's not a gender option for his stardust crushader), or "just go up to them and wink! use that joestar charm of yours on them and they'll be sure to swoon." and other pieces of advice that jotaro is pretty sure won't work fill the air of their conversations. though jotaro won't budge on telling him anytime soon, joseph is pretty sure he knows who it is.

eventually, joseph-- perhaps realizing how his words were not getting through to jotaro-- sighs and puts his hands on jotaro's shoulders and says "listen, i know having a crush isn't easy, but what's the worst that could happen if you ask them out? they say no? then we move on, keep travelling, and in three weeks this will be over and we'll be on our ways. but you only have twenty days to enjoy this-- go take your chance."
