Special international show! This edition is outside of the typical fare I’ve been posting so far. It was a substitution for a classic country show, but I ignored that and did and all-international-dusties show. It was really fun but also hectic because I was completely unfamiliar with nearly all of these records. I spent about an hour before the show browsing the international records section, and I pulled anything that had a good review or a promising cover. Serendipitous find in the WHPK library. (I was searching for Flossie and the Unicorns.) Flesh Volcano was a one-off collaboration between Marc Almond from Soft Cell and industrial icon Foetus. Lots of banging and clattering combined with Almond's over-dramatic howling, proto-blues for a new era. Epic album art to boot.
