Hello! Sorry if it's been a while since you asked, I check tumblr a little less often than other socials hehe.

- I do use references 🙂‍↕️ I use PureRef to gather all the images I'll need! For fanart I search for official art of the characters to get their proportions and details right, I also look for poses, complex materials like metal or things with reflections, environments, all the things you think would facilitate the process :) for example, in my pokemon piece I searched for every pokemon I put there, the hoenn trainer, how the ocean looks underwater like the ocean floor, corals and stuff 🐚🪸

-I think it's okay to use fanart as reference as long as you give credit to the original artist :)
