"Well?" "I don’t know. You won’t lay down or sit still for five minutes."
"Fine. Lying down. Sitting still." "Very good. That’s better."
"And we can do without the dramatic sighs." "…….."
First Encounter - Jocelyn and McCoy
"Yeah, that’s what I thought," he replied and tried to hide the wide grin on his face when he heard a cough behind him. His eyes, though, full of amusement betrayed him anyway. "Well, whether or not you’re as graceful as you thought, you look gorgeous tonight." The corner of his mouth twitched and after only a few seconds he laughed slightly at her. "Except of your bloody hands and your bloody face and…," he listed her with a smug expression on his face, while he watched the result of his scan. "And except from a nice cut on your forehead and your palm and some minor bruises here and there. I can fix that, don’t worry."
Leonard put the tricorder away and stepped back to not only grab a pair of disposable gloves he pulled on, but also to get a piece of cotton wool he wetted with disinfecting agent. He then went back to the young woman. Leonard touched her chin with one hand and gently lifted her head. “It’s gonna be cold and it might sting a bit.” He warned her. He couldn’t help but grinned again. He could tell tell just by now that this has made his entire night.
"Yeah well, y’know the hands of that cowboy can achieve great things," he answered her promising. He didn’t look away from her forehead though, but kept freeing her face from all the blood. "He’s to work until the sun is up. Though… I could swear the sun has raised just moments ago. What do you think?" He heard another cough behind him. "Don’t forget to work, McCoy," Sanders huffed slightly. "There’s your name," was everything Leonard said to that.
Jocelyn blushed and rolled her eyes simultaneously. "Do you compliment all your patients? Or are you just practicing an exceptional bedside manner tonight?" She teased him, ignoring the presence of the older doctor who hovered in the background.
To her surprise he was exceptionally gentle, and she allowed him to tip her head upwards. As he cleared the blood from her face she lowered her eyes to prevent the antiseptic from dripping in her eyes. True to his word it stung a bit, but Jocelyn gave no sign of it other than to wince a bit.
She couldn't help but laugh a bit at the older doctor's comment. "I'm sorry, I had no idea I was such a distraction." Jocelyn hissed a bit as he touched the deepest part of the cut and involuntarily flinched away. "Sorry." She apologized as she leaned back up. "I'll try not to fall off this table as well." She laughed again. "Although another drink might not be amiss after this."

First Encounter - Jocelyn and McCoy
It was a rather quiet night for Leonard in the hospital. He’d to work the night shift this time but nothing happened all the time. He just followed his doctor in charge around, visited a few patients who were in intensive care and let him explain things to him. He sucked all the information and asked whatever he wanted to know.
When they were back to the doctor’s office they got caught by a nurse. “Dr. Sanders, good to see you. I was on the way to call you.” Leonard watched here as she came a little closer. “There’s a young woman who got several injuries at a party. Slightly drunk.” Sanders nodded and slapped Leonard on the back. “We’ll take care of her,” Sanders said to the nurse before he stepped to the side and walked to the treatment room. Leonard followed him. “You can do that,” the doctor grinned and Leonard nodded. A few bruises and other minor injuries shouldn’t be a problem for him. “But I’m still there.” The doctor added by knocking at the door. He gave Leonard the advantage.
"Good evening," Leonard said and wanted to shake her hand in the first moment but then saw her bloody hands. "That looks as if you’d had a promising night," he smirked when he also noticed her black dress. "So what happened to you?" Leonard moved away for a second to get a tricorder and was right back to scan her. There was a lot of blood on her body but apart from her pale face and her messy hair she didn’t look that serious injured.
Jocelyn flushed with embarrassment when she realized she couldn't shake his hand with her bloody one. His following comment just caused her cheeks to burn brighter. Her usually sharp wit had abandoned her, although if it was the wound on her head or the slight intoxication that caused her to lose her ability to retort quickly.
"I....fell." She admitted slowly, giving the doctor a sidelong glance. She sighed and laughed a bit to herself, God, there wasn't much to loose at this point. "I was dancing. On a table." She admitted with a rather abashed grin. "Apparently I'm not as graceful as I thought." She shook her head which only resulted in caused her to feel as if the room was spinning.
Gripping the sides of the exam table she squinted her eyes shut until the world once again held still. Opening them tentatively she laughed at herself again. "Well Cowboy, you going to introduce yourself?" She eyed the doctor, fairly certain he couldn't be too much older than herself. His Southern accent wasn't too different from her own, a fact that encouraged her boldness. "At least I was having more fun than you are tonight." She winked.

First Encounter - Jocelyn and McCoy
"Shit." Jocelyn examined her bloody hands with a detached sort of concern. At this point she wasn't sure if she had a cut on her hand, or if all of the blood came from the gash on her temple. The location of the wound was the only reason she had agreed to seek medical attention. Although she was loath to admit it, her stomach turned at the idea that it would scar and mar her complexion.
Her head still buzzed slightly with the drinks consumed earlier that evening, although the pain and shock of injury had done a marvelous job of sobering her quickly. Jocelyn supposed she should be glad that the alcohol had also done the job of numbing the pain. Although it did nothing to touch the embarrassment that flushed her cheeks.
She'd already explained to the kindly nurse exactly what had happened, and she hoped she would be spared relating it again. A few to many drinks and she'd over estimated her ability to dance on a marble tabletop. A wrong step and she'd smashed her head open, perhaps a hand as well. And now here she sat, flaming red hair falling disheveled around her face, shivering in the cold and sterile examination room, her little black dress hardly built for warmth. Of course to add to the embarrassment she'd managed this feat at a party on base, hence the fact that she now sat in a Starfleet Hospital, praying a superior officer didn't hear about her little stunt the next morning.
"Shit." She repeated herself, the sound of her voice a comfort in the strange location. Perhaps she should just leave. A towel and a bag of frozen peas pressed to her forehead would be sufficient, surely. Just as she had convinced herself that there was no point in waiting any longer, a sharp rap came at the door, and it swung inwards.
