An advocate for the Malala Fund and ChildFund International, associate professor Joann Baney is a published author, holding a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Chicago. She also possesses a master of business administration from Columbia University. Joann Baney leverages her education to lead executive MBA courses at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. In addition, she gives lectures in the Speech Department, the Graduate School of Public Health, and the executive MBA program. Her other academic activities include visiting universities and government agencies in Qatar, Colombia, and the Republic of Georgia. Concurrently, Ms. Baney is the vice president of the Professional Development Company, Inc. Joann Baney co-founded the New York business more than a decade ago, to provide coaching and training services to senior executives and large enterprises. Her firm creates communication programs for companies including Del Monte Foods, Takeda Pharmaceuticals, and the Robin Hood Foundation.
