Today, as I reflect on Good Friday and on the death of Jesus Christ, I reflect on my visit to Golgotha outside of the old Jerusalem walls. I am reminded of God’s grace and Christ’s shed blood. I am reminded that He gave up His will and His life for us, so that we might live and have life more abundantly. I am encouraged and reminded that in order for us, for me, to live a life that’s pleasing to God, it would mean giving up my will too. I found strength in the example of Jesus, even His words to the disciples to “take up your cross and follow me”. Today, as I remember Christ’s finished work on Calvary and how that work was done for you and me, I encourage you as I encourage myself to let God’s will be done over our/my own. Have a great Good Friday, remembering Jesus Christ and the price that He paid for you and I on Calvary.
