a laugh escaped his mouth as he shook his head at her, “you’re getting advice from magazines now?” he teased. “he’s settling in surprisingly well,” daniel nodded, his face a physical presentation of how relieved he was of the fact. “normally he hates new places or anything new, but he’s already referring to the house as home…i think the fact that my moms not a new face is helping, you know?”

“ what’s a nice way of saying ‘ i would rather have queen latifah shit in my mouth from a fucking hot air balloon rather than let that happen ’ ? i mean, no offence but i honestly would rather castrate myself, ” he shrugs unapologetically. “ uh, just about everything ? i’m pretty sure you’re the one who got me hooked on heaven’s white powder, if y’get my drift, ”

“obviously,” nani snickered, raising her eyebrows smugly as she glanced away, “that’s why i was just as surprised. but, i mean, you never know, right?”

         “May of forgot, occasionally, to call my parents at least once a month but she’s acting like I haven’t spent eighteen years of my life in her house, need to be able spread my wings at some point.” She shrugged along with her words, there was no way that could get her mother off her back especially since she was her only daughter. She was kind of like a prized possession in her home.  “Don’t underestimate me, sure I’m small but I could take you on. Also, doubt that you want to hear another one of my lectures on good deeds so don’t be doing anything that’ll get you in trouble.. or worst.” She swiftly rolled her eyes in the other direction. This exact moment was when she hated her genetics, she hated being as tall as an average twelve year old. “Well wasn’t expecting you to be here, so didn’t even think about calling. How about we just go for something less dangerous, as fun as that sounds.. I’d rather just keep today a calm, cop-free zone.”

“it’s good, i mean aside from getting pummeled in game night last night,” daniel laughed with a slight shrug of his shoulder. “my mom threw a little welcome party, had the rest of the family come over for the day but that was more for payson since he’s never actually been here before.”
