finished the first draft (and first little edit round) of chapter 9 of 'your name whispered by the fire' and let me tell you, i foolishly thought this chapter wouldn't be so long, that it wouldn't be so full of things and little clues and details, and yet, here i am, somewhere around 6.3k words later, laughing at myself 🫣 and all i can say is "oh simon, my beloved, you and your big heart" 👀
as always, here's a little snippet (which might change during editing):
“But since this apparent mistake you’ve made is bothering you enough to make you look all sad in the face, despite how well I know you’re able to control how much of your feelings you show, perhaps it would be worth reconsidering? To not write the whole thing off and instead be a man and try to fix it. Sometimes an honest apology for an honest mistake can go a long way. And if he still tells you no, fuck him.” “I’m rather sure if he doesn’t want to talk to me, he would say no to that as well.” “Simon,” Mrs. Greenberg said with faux indignation before they both began to laugh.
