Jinx! or Jinks During Hijinks

HI LOTTIE!!! OH MY GOSH my sincerest apologies for taking so long to answer this ask! Life has been rather unkind to me 😅 But now I'm back!!

Honestly, it's been so long since I produced that song that I had to go back to the project file to remind myself, and wow, the way I produce music has really changed after making the songs for my album (which will be coming out soon 👀). I'm not sure what I was on making this song, but I kinda wanna go back HJSDHHLKSJFHF

Anyways, it's a tie between percussion and melodies! Percussion will always be a fun part of production for me. I try to make my percussion sound unique, or at the very least not like mainstream percussion which tends to be more subdued. One fun part is that the entire song has a constantly beating drum which I referred to as the "heartbeat", and during the bridge, it doubles in speed. 'Cause plurality can be really scary!

As for melodies, I think I just really nailed them for this song. They sound so eerie and exactly what I needed them to be for this song. The way FL Studio works, making melodies is like drawing patterns, and as someone who loves to draw, this really appeals to me! It helps that the synth that I used for the melodies, Pure Feather, has an inherent creepy quality to it. One of my favorite synths from the FLEX pack honestly.
