I believe our current political catastrophe is worse than most can imagine. We're undergoing governmental spontaneous combustion.

The bad news is, Trump might deport me.

But that's good news if he deports me to Norway, from where all of my great, great grandparents came, and where my very distant ancestors were vikings.

What is so disheartening to me is, Trump "trumps" every federal U.S. politician, past or present, at stupidity and evil. The really horrific part is, so many people are attracted to him.

Is this the best we can do? What is to become of us?

Our world conditions are dire. Instead of gradual, then ever more rapid, decline, have we reached--or are we suddenly, in human time--approaching a tipping point?

Some have asked why I carry on so, and I guess it's simply "Would I rather know, or not know?" Others ask, "What can we do?"

I ran into a local friend in our hometown of Froid, Montana the other day. Petunia Bunns. She's a friendly sort, though we never discuss religion or politics. This time, however, she broke our unspoken agreement.

"Jim, I hear you have yet another book out, and it's even more incomprehensible than "Rat-tail Curves."

What could I say? And the paperback version isn't quite out yet, but soon. Good old Amazon.

"If you'd write something normal, and comprehensible, maybe a regular publisher would take it."

I told her, honestly and truly, that at my age, position, and disposition, I will never cave. At that she merely gave me a strange look, muttered something incomprehensible, and walked away. 🤔
