The Child, tho until now not a fan of water, has come up with a new and grandious method to keep cool in this weather.
Once I am finished with showering, the Child in its wisdom will wait until most but not all water has disappeared from the tub. It will then jump in and soak the fur on its beautiful belly with water. Afterwards it is my job to pick it up, kiss its pretty little forehead, and place it on the floor in my livingroom, where it will then turn into a black, fluffy puddle.

Okay, time to get nocturnal again. 40C during the day is for sleeping/resting/drinking only. I hope the Germans will realize that this time. It is deeply concerning to see them all out and roasting in the heat. Also I really really need a new job. Apart from vet costs (still the priority #1 sadly) I'm having new ideas for my balcony. Like... a waterthingy or fountain to cool down the air. And something to lie down on. I'm not happy with my chair.
Replaying Skyrim again because I need something to cheer me up from... all the things. For the first time I somehow created a villain. Originally called Fenrik, I had to make a name change. Now he's Diinalunnir (Frost-Ever-Hunting, if I made the correct translation?), because that describes what is happening a lot better. That dude is totally in for world domination. Not only is he commander of 4 dragons and can shout people off of mountains, he's also like the very worst vampire lord with very little fear of fire or sun. No daedric deals involved (fuck them!) , just very good enchantments. And in his freetime he apparently loves to fly 15 minute-dogfights against Ancient kin (who then end up face down in a waterfall after falling from the sky like a shot down falcon). His favorite dragon is Valminoor (again with the Drogon look because favorite dragon of mine), who breaths ice and has a tendency to fuck off to who-knows-where inbetween battles. Which... adds to his charme I guess. Then there are Philmorex and Odahviing who provide the firepower. And obviously Durnehviir. I'd be surprised if more won't follow the call eventually. If the Empire has any braincell left they better get down on inventing means to shoot down oversized lizards, and prepare for an attack of the undead and undying. But... for now there is still Miraak to defeat. And words to learn (for some reason fire-related words are not in his repertoire).

Something is happening. Usually, in summer, there will be people down there, outside my house, listening to shitty techno music and drinking and yelling and just being arseholes. Today is different. I think they must be ex-students, celebrating the end of school. And I suppose they learned Spanish in school, maybe even took it as their major subject. Because they sometimes talk in Spanish and they listen exclusively to fun Spanish music. Like. Actual fun music! Fun music you can dance to wildly. And they do! And they laugh and squeal! But not in an annoying way. Instead in a "woops! Swung around too wildly" kind of way. I'm amazed actually. We should have more of that in this dreary country. Might lift some spirits for a change. And I really do not mind listening to happiness.
This weather thing here in Berlin is driving me nuts.
Like... Imagine this. You come from a country and a region where weather is steady, for lack of a better word. In summer it is hot as hell with lots of sun and barely any downpour, but temperatures rise gradually and fall gradually as well once winter comes around. You get a thunderstorm once in a while with lots of rain. But you can prepare for it. It will come. You know that.
Weather in Berlin however is something else. Winter can be both - treacherously cold with danger of freezing your nose off and falling on your arse OR light spring temperatures with birds trying to build their nests and flowers blooming. Which is already insane. Then summer. Because spring mostly gets skipped over. One day you have temperatures barely over freezing the next suddenly you start sweating in your clothes. People, mostly older ones, start getting collapses because the shifts are too sudden. Then you think 'ah, summer! Lets prepare for sun!' and you buy sunscreen because that's reasonable. But again Berlin weather shows you a big middlefinger. Temperatures might be hot, but don't you dare think that it's dry. No. You get grey clouds for most of the day with no rain. And because Berlin hates you specifically you get little drizzles over the course of the day which instantly evaporates and makes everything humid as fuck. Swamp conditions basically. Meanwhile all plants and animals wither away from thirst.
It is ridiculous. I hate it with a passion.

Second vet visit went great as well. The Child has charmed the staff already.
However, surgery is a thing now. There are 2 options. And I don't know yet how much I will have to pay. So... it stays interesting.
Overall I am very happy with the new vet tho. Was a good choice.

Was just introduced to the Aska/Rhun Child of this year :)
They are very big already. But the head is still baby.
They approach me very friendly, but with a care the adults do not show anymore. And I think they are in that phase now where the parents are not necessarily sharing their food anymore. The bb definitely tried to get some from Aska, but quickly turned to fetch a piece from the ground instead.
