Right now, more than ever is a time the oppressed can come together and support and fight for each other. Racism and sexism are so alive and being promoted as if they’re something proud to support. Peaceful protests and spreading awareness have been so helpful to those who don’t know how to help especially on social media. Sometimes it seems like these trending topics spark nothing but arguments and controversy at the same time there are people in these social media communities sharing very important and sometimes little known ideas and ways to help and make sure the small voices are heard. Maybe it’s because of facebook you know that a politician you once supported is corrupt, maybe it’s because of twitter you found out about the rising number of racially profiled victims of police brutality, maybe it’s because of tumblr you finally realized how many basic rights women still have to fight for. Social media has become a huge part of activism and political based information and it’s gotten young people with huge ideas out trying to change the world.

The people who don’t understand the protests will never be happy with the formality of the protests either. 

This is so powerful and haunting and tragic all in one. Real men realizing what women face every day because they were born women.
