Infants in the United States are being abandoned for many reasons.They are being left in garbage cans and in sewers when they could be brought to hospitals or various other places that provide that kind of service. A place such as the National Safe Haven Alliance could provide a safe environment for babies to be dropped off when there is a need. It is crucial that these facilities exist so that there will be fewer infants who are abandoned and who perish.
