Thinking about Kenshi being a heavy sleeper while Johnny is more of a light sleeper.
I imagine that since Johnny has a lot of responsibilities as a movie director, an actor, and what have you, it may cause stress to him that interferes with his sleep schedule/patterns. On some nights, he can't even sleep at all.
On the other hand, Kenshi has a more well-balanced sleep schedule, but often finds it difficult to get up on some mornings. Aside from that, he sleeps through all hours of the night and wakes up well-rested to do his usual business and what not.
So after Kenshi settles in with Cage, he kept noticing the lack of sleep he was getting because of having to do director work so late at night. It started to become concerning when he became so easily burnt out during training sessions. Even though he kept insisting that he was fine, Kenshi deeply knew something was wrong.
One night, Kenshi decided to help him sleep better, as he worried that Cage's lack of proper rest was starting to catch up to him. He guided Cage to the bedroom after he had an exhausting day of work, and helped him relax by lightly massaging his shoulders. As Kenshi kept doing this, he let Cage talk about his day until he became too tired to speak any further.
Kenshi let Cage rest his head on his shoulder and let him rest comfortably by his side. He didn't mind it at all, as what mattered now was for him to finally get his needed sleep.
Jennifer was born in 2031 in her respective timeline taking place after mk1 2023 story mode campaign. Her fathers are Jonathan Carlton and Kenshi Takahashi planned on having her after living peacefully married for some time. Most of her childhood Kenshi spent looking after her at home, so naturally she began to show interest in sword fighting early on. Little energetic troublemaker, she went to a private school where she could scare some kids away but the ones who stuck around became her best allies. She was caught smoking a cigarette at 17, not really a smoker, she will make it a habit in her 40s when her job gets the best of her. Jennifer inherited Kenshi's telekinesis and utilises it a lot while fighting with a sword. On her 18th birthday she received a special present: a katana forged by the Takahashi family, which she will hold dear for many years to come. Being a daughter of two Earthrealm trained-to-be champions, she set up a high standard for herself, wanting to enlist in OIA since her late teen years alongside her friend Jacqueline Briggs. Even though Jennifer has military training and equipped to use firearm she prefers to stick to sword fighting instead. Jennifer's fighting style include attacking with telepathically controlled sword on long distance and throwing punches/kicks at a short distance, she uses her katana to perform fatalities.

Jacqui is noticeably older that Jenny in this timeline so growing up she was more of an older sister figure rather than a friend

her name is jennifer takahashi, she has this last name because i personally could never curse anyone with the last name carlton but plot wise it is because johnny chose the first name; in the lineup of jonathan and janet jennifer will fit right in. she was created while i was drawing the blindstar march, one of the themes was "parenting" and i thought: i have enjoyed this relationship for years now, naturally, we gotta move on to the next stage so i took my two favourite characters and mishmashed them into another favourite character. her personality is modelled a lot after younger kenshi (like in snowblind) but both kenshi and johnny in mk1 have themes of honour and loyalty, "doing the right thing" therefore it balances out the insufferable competitiveness of snowblind kenshi. because in mk1 kenshi functionally stands in for sonya, jennifer functionally stands in for cassie, in previous timeline cassie was born right about after the tournament, and jacqui and cassie are about the same age. jacqui being born close to the tournament year holds true in my timeline, but because kenshi went on an yakuza avenging spree, jennifer will be born much later. jax and kenshi are work partners and friends (like jax and sonya were in previous tl) so jacqui and jennifer spent a lot of time together growing up, except because of the age difference it was more of a "jacqui babysitting jenny". in mkx there was a team of new generation fighters by cassie's command with johnny's mentorship, the team consisted of jin, takeda, cassie and jacqui; in my timeline the equivalent of this team consists of jin (unchanged), hanzo instead of takeda (i assume he is a young teen in mk1 scorpion's ending, so he will be the oldest member by the time the team is formed), jennifer instead of cassie (cassie uses firearm but jenny is a sword user like kenshi and jenny is the youngest member of the team) and jacqui in command with sonya's mentorship.
i think jennifer and cassie would love each other if they ever met, on the contrary, i think jenny would be very confused if she ever met her half brother takeda because in her tl takeda is her uncle. also takeda from previous tl has telepathy and jennifer (nor mk1 kenshi) does not.
