She turned her head in confusion, but she kept her innocent look. Maybe he didn’t want to be friends anymore, maybe he was going to reveal something huge that would impact their relationship, but whatever it was, it was bothering him and she didn’t like seeing him so bothered.

“What about our relationship, and are you going to be okay? You look pale, would you like to sit down?”

“Yes, that’s exactly it.”

He couldn’t handle her (not-so) piercing gaze, the pressure had been real. Ace’s hands twitched, then he cleared his throat. A look of desperation became apparent, his attempts to speak an obvious cry for help.
