i love clicking on somebody’s ao3 profile and seeing the most nonsensical collection of fandoms. like yess let's live a thousand lifetimes
So on day shift we have… checks notes guy who is actively suicidal and lady with uncontrolled seizures and night shift we have… looks again guy who sucks at golf and guy who likes caffeine
i keep thinking about robby and baran trying to keep their relationship quiet and somehow managing to create the worst kept secret in PTMC history.
there's like 15 different stories floating around the ER. none of it true. none of it completely false either.
someone swears they saw them kissing. someone else swears they saw them getting into the same car after a shift.
santos knows because one day she sees robby smiling at his phone.
smiling.
at a text message.
it freaks her out.
because robby is 900 years old. he hates texting. he can't work half the apps on his phone. he still believes in phone calls. so if he’s voluntarily smiling at his phone, there’s most definitely a woman involved.
abbott knows because he's known robby forever.
dana knows because apparently god hates her. she made the rookie mistake of opening a supply closet door without knocking first. she closes it immediately, walks away, then pretends she never saw two fully grown attending physicians making out in a supply closet like horny teenagers.
she starts the betting pool a day after that.
the rest of the ER pieces it together through a combination of observation, gossip, and pattern recognition.
nobody asks them directly, though.
because what are you supposed to do? walk up to them and ask “hey, are you guys dating each other?" if you're wrong, you have to quit medicine.
javadi says she volunteers as tribute. nobody lets her.
it’s all fun and games until, inevitably, the rumors get to administration.
gloria calls them into her office after what it feels like the longest shift of their lives.
they're both annoyed because they had dinner plans.
gloria is irritated because she'd rather be literally anywhere else.
she gives them the whole HR speech. professionalism. optics. boundaries. disclosure forms.
then she asks, “how serious is this relationship?"
(because apparently there are different forms depending on the answer.)
both of them go quiet.
because they've been together for four months.
they're exclusive, they spend half their nights together. baran’s things are all over robby's apartment, robby has a whole sock session inside her drawer.
they are, by every available metric, in a serious relationship. they've just never sat down and defined what this was. they both just assumed — between months two and four — it wasn't casual.
gloria waits.
and waits.
and waits.
then finally robby goes, "it’s serious."
gloria blinks.
"serious as in...?"
and robby actually looks offended. like she's asking him whether water is wet.
"serious serious."
baran has to look away because that is both the least romantic and most romantic thing she's ever heard.
the meeting eventually ends.
gloria is free from her suffering. so are them.
on the way out, baran goes,
"you didn't have to say that."
and robby shrugs.
"i know."
then, after a second:
"i wanted to."
so technically, yes, they become official because administration needed the right paperwork filed, but they wouldn’t have any other way.

also sepideh saying that a commonality she thinks baran sees between herself and robby is that they both hide in the same way......................................
not to be delusional or anything BUT lowkey the way she’s been talking about their relationship lately makes me wonder how much was she told (now that they’re back to shooting) about where they’re going with her character…
much worse actually
She’s such a disaster bisexual
I love the PTMC emergency attendings you've got passively suicidal, actively suicidal, uncontrolled seizures, and John Shen.
my cursed little bundles of despair + john with his dunkin
So dreamy.

so sepideh just said that dr. al-hashimi won’t be in the first episode of season three, she also said she’ll be one of the staggered entrances this season which is interesting considering scott gemmil kinda alluded to the fact that robby will be showing up late in episode one, i wonder what that will be about
not a caller not a texter but a secret third thing
don’t contact me. ever
there is something within me that i would like removed
just watched the whole panel for the fyc event and genuinely wtf was that? everyone was uncomfortable as hell (i think at some point laughing became a coping mechanism). not a single real question was asked, the moderator acting like it was his comedy special, and what was with the awkward silence between questions? and the random digs?
the whole segment where he tries (very poorly) to ask sepideh about gender bias and then immediately makes it about langdon’s addiction, then proceeds to make very distasteful jokes about it (mind you, patrick is a recovering addict), made my skin crawl. like, i had to pause for a second there.
the whole accent thing with shabana was WILD stuff (she clocked the fuck out of him though, you gotta love shabana).
like WHERE did they even find that man? i know their gc was blowing up last night.
what doesn’t kill me leaves a pit in my stomach that never goes away

some of you are lowkey illiterate, everyone on twt freaking out over shabana saying she won’t be doing the ER rotation next season when we all knew this was happening BESIDES javadi very specifically said she was interested in EMERGENCY psychiatry… like…. also we don’t know how much screen time she will be getting, the scripts are STILL being written and shabana is STILL a series regular so maybe let’s wait until we start jumping the gun.
anyways happy to see my baby victoria javadi pursue something that resonates with her and that she loves while she frees herself from her parents expectations <3
People being worried that show that's had a pattern of consistently firing woc, and mainly cut down on screentime for woc, being worried that yet another woc might be getting written out is upsetting to you? This criticism, that's mainly coming from bipoc, is an "illiterate" take for you...? Shabana has consistently gotten the least amount of lines in both seasons, and you consider the people worried over yet another brown woman getting sidelined the problem...
hi! so, i wasn’t trying to say people concerns aren’t valid, what i was responding to at the time i made that post was the amount of tweets/posts claiming that shabana was being completely written out of the show, which isn’t true. the point i was trying to make was "maybe let's not treat speculation as a fact," and not "stop being worried because you don’t have reasons to” which i think could’ve been worded better.
and for context, i’m bipoc myself, so i wasn't trying to dismiss concerns coming from other bipoc fans. i was pushing back on misinformation.
