Which honestly I respect. Also I’m pretty sure the author uses Nemesis instead of archenemy but well…

Fic where James and Regulus have (gently, lovingly) been ribbing each other ever since Harry was born about what house he’ll end up in. Baby Harry spits up on James while he’s holding him above his head and Regulus is like “ah, the makings of a true Slytherin.” Harry learning to walk and promptly trying to master the stairs, and James is like “ah, brave like a true Gryffindor.” Remus and Sirius get in on it, too, of course, and so there’s a great amount of anticipation leading up to Harry’s sorting.
And then he gets into Hufflepuff.
And Ted Tonks promptly Apparates into their kitchen and goes, “Ha, I win!”
let’s pretend harry and teddy are the exact same age please. the day they board the hogwarts express for the first time james, regulus, sirius and remus find themselves together waiting eagerly to hear any news at all, really. the moment harry’s owl arrives remus gets up to open it and james and sirius are already nudging regulus to pay off their bet because they’re so sure harry is going to be a gryffindor. while they bicker remus lets out a hearty laugh, “you will never believe this.” and that’s how they find out about harry and teddy being sorted into the same house.
the moment they realise it means they would be sharing classes, a common room and a dorm for the next seven years they send quite a few owls apologising in advance.
james: how long have you been sleeping with sirius?
remus: what
remus: i don’t even get…
remus: why would… i…
remus: i’ve never had sex with anyone. anywhere
remus: it’s none of your…
remus: you have the nerve. the audacity.
