In Star Wars Megās recent video āOriginal Star Wars Rebels Was Wild,ā she states that āSabine was going to be older. And not just this, Sabine and not Hera was supposed to be Kananās love interest.ā (2:29)
(Iām really glad they changed that. Kanera is perfection.)
But anyway, doesnāt this mean that Sabine Wren was meant to be in a relationship with a male Jedi? Thatās significant for so many reasons. First of all, the showās creators were okay with a Jedi having a love interest, but secondly Sabine was designed to be a male characterās love interest.
Let that sink in for a moment.
They were trying to figure out what sort of character she would be. She was always a badass.
The bare midriff designs were meant to appeal to the male gaze, but are very impractical, so ultimately rejected. After all, Rebels is a family show.
Even younger Sabineās cocked hip stance puts an emphasis on her curves and shows sheās a girl with attitude.
The younger version of Sabine that became the character that we know from Rebels is still a male Jediās love interest.
In Rebels canon, Sabine is an attractive teenage girl, and Ezra Bridger has definitely noticed that fact. She is his love interest.
Their story is still being told, Sabezra shippers.
