I’m a little disappointed that tom’s has that same curly hair and overall look in both which baffles me like he changes his look so much for other roles but now he looks the same in the two biggest movies coming out 2 weeks apart.

i’ve talked about this before but tom seems to almost always play the same role in the sense that they’re always sympathetic characters that require him to look like naive/innocent/pure ect ect

Absolutely - rather than Tom disappearing into roles, every role that he plays gets Tomified. Which is fine as he’s very likable and charismatic. But for this reason I’ve always thought that all the hair transformations are doing too much😅

I was listening to a podcast about bollywood and they were interviewing an industry insider who was saying nepo babies don't have as much power as people think and that their parents are often ruthlessly ambitious making them get cosmetic work done as teens and taking them to parties and telling them to party until 5 even though they're underage with dudes w ulterior motives 👀 i realize india and america are v different but I wonder if Hollywood is similar in that regard

Being a young, famous person is a recipe for all kinds of trauma, I’m sure.

In general, I don’t think too much about nepo babies because I think that term is really hard to nail down, and anyway I think it’s just a way for us to individualize problems with the whole capitalistic & patriarchal system, problems that are about the 1% keeping the rest of us under their boot vs. any particular celebrity child.

What do you think is the reason why sydney's sexy persona flopped even before the maga stuff like Gen z really weren't feeling her but other sexy celebrities did well?

My friend and I theorized that most other sexy female celebrities are also already celebrated actors or singers and the sexiness is an add on, and Sydney didn't have enough acting appreciation yet? Or like she was trying to be an icon off of Cassie who was a highly memed character from a polarizing show? Idk.

Can I just say though I knew she'd have it rough after her moms make 50 great again party bc she just radiated the energy of someone who has a dozen relatives who are gonna ask her for money and sure enough she said she was signing all these deals to support them.

I just don’t think Sydney can truly headline a movie? (I mean, very few people can.) I’m not sure where that idea even came from, and I don’t understand why studios tried. She’s a…fine? actress and she’ll probably continue to do fine as a 4th/5th billed actor in any movie or show because she’s blonde and pretty and has that specific body. I get why she tried to carve out a niche with the MAGAs, but it seems like it wasn’t a big enough niche to enable her alone to really be a box office draw.

Like I said, watching her try leaning into exploitative roles is…upsetting.

I do wonder what it’s like to have some money and then need to fund all these family members and friends. Not good, I bet.

It’s literally so easy to resell because they do all the work for you - you just basically ship it in a box, and they pay for shipping. If they don’t resell in 2-3 months, they just donate your stuff.

but i will say to anyone who’s never bought from there make sure you filter by new with tags and excellent condition only. when i first started shopping there i got some stuff with minor stains and tears in it bc i was just putting whatever cheap cute stuff i saw in my cart and not checking the condition description.

Yup I got a “color analysis” done (don’t judge me) like a year ago and was so happy with it that I’ve been revamping my wardrobe to bring all my clothes in line with my results, and I’ve been relying on ThredUp. Agree that you want to set the filter to New or Excellent condition, but once you do that you can be pretty confident the item will be nice. You can make returns, too, which I really appreciate. It’s a good business. And it’s fun to thrift - it truly is.
