A little over a month ago I overdosed with the intention of suicide. I spent three days in the ICU, and the following week in the psychiatric hospital. I have been severely struggling with my mental health, and I was unable to properly process my negative thoughts. I’ve been asked if I regret my decision, and in all honesty I cannot say I do. At the time I believed what I did was the right move. This has been something I’ve been wanting to share since it happened, and the recent talk of suicide in the news helped me make that decision. I’ve always been somewhat open about my depression, and I’ve accepted that this is another part of that. I believe sharing this will help me with my own recovery. Not everyone is able to reach out for help, and it can cause people, like myself, to struggle on their own. Things are hard, it may get better, it may not, but please continue to take care of yourself, and those around you.
