Clara Oswald:

She's an arrogant, manipulative, controlling and lying adrenaline junkie, just like the main character of the show. But while the main character is loved by all, Clara is said to be "too important", she takes up too much narrative space, she doesn't get shamed and punished like she deserves too, she's a Marry Sue. She's said to be completely unlikable, despite being clever, brave and kind. She's a "male fantasy".

She's a complex person with many different qualities. She can be shitty and she can be amazing, she challenges the main character for narrative space and in the end takes up his role, becoming a hero of her own <3

Jean Leslie:

simplify her to being a “girlboss”, dismiss her in favour of men, ignore the canonical misogyny she experiences and/or make it about the feelings of the man enacting the misogyny, refuse to ship her with another of the main characters (i don’t even particularly ship it but given they fake date in canon and he calls her beautiful and more i think it’s not an inobvious storytelling possibility) because “she deserves better” - instead of giving her “better”, or, indeed, a complex storyline where she gets to be a person, simply don’t write about her. free jean pleaz
