Once the she tossed the last shot back she set it down on the counter, pushing all the empty glasses away from her and shaking her head. “Too much. Too much tequila. I’m gonna die.” She broke into a fit of laughter as she watched him stand up, then held her hands out in an attempt to help him, although once she was standing up she could feel that her own balance was shaky as well. “Fuck,” she cursed under her breath, moving her hands over his back until she found his hand and placed it into her own. “Let’s go. There’s too many people here now and I have a bunch of this shit at my place… and we don’t have to pay for it.”
“You’re so dramatic, Jen! You’re not gonna die. You can’t die. We’re in this together.” Josh couldn’t help but laugh at Jen almost falling over with him. Maybe the two of them went a little overboard but that’s who they were. Nothing was going to change that. “We’re a mess. But at least we’re pretty.” Josh sloppily pretended to flip his hair. “Okay, lead the way! I’ll follow. Or I’ll do my best to follow.” Josh felt her hand come in contact with his, holding her’s as tight as possible without hurting her. “I like free.”
