Therapy II Lewis and Jasper
Jasper sighed as he finished up his paperwork. He didn't understand how they hadn't gone to electronic yet. He was going to have to talk to Amelia about that. If she didn't have the funds, maybe she would allow him to make a donation, because he hated paperwork so much. After he did this paperwork, he had another patient session, and then he had to spend his time in the infirmary. He was never going to catch up with Sophia. He just knew it.Â
The sound of someone knocking on his door was a relief. This was what he was paid for and what he spent fourteen years of school mastering. "Come on in." He called out to the door and placed the jar of candy on the side table beside the couch the patients usually sat on before he sat on the opposite couch. "Lewis right?"
Who's there? || Cordelia & Jasper
Cordelia gave a slight nod as he spoke, making sure that she kept smiling, if somewhat weakly; just so that she didnât alarm him. She wasnât sure what to do next. Her hand raised out of its own accord, subconsciously scratching the small hickey Kaiden had accidentally left on her neck, 'annoying little shit.' "Iâd go talking to the staff if I were you. I⊠Hell, I shouldnât even be telling you this, seeing as the patients would kill me if they found outââ Heaven knows I shouldnât tell you about it, but some of the guards are pretty slack around here. As long as you provide them with a bit of money, or flirt with them, then youâll more or less get a hold of anything you want." Cordelia shrugged, knowing that sheâd more or less fucked up her own chances of smuggling alcohol into the place. 'One week since I last had a⊠sip. I can do this.'
"I⊠canât just walk away. IâI canât do that. I wonât.â She nodded slightly, determined that she would fix their relationship. Somehow. "She just needs some time. Thatâs all." At his next set of questions, Cordelia found herself staring into his eyes for a good few seconds before replying, not sure how comfortable she felt about telling him about all of her problems. Her thoughts. The anxiety. The attacks. Hell, she didnât even tell Kaiden about all of it. She didnât want anybody to worry. âIâm fine, I promise.' âI'm fine. IââNo. Iâm not fine. I canât sleep. I donât know why. I just canât.âÂ
"Iâve been feeling more anxious lately, âcause of various reasons, and that in turn leads to more frequent panic attacks." Cordelia replied calmly, as if what sheâd just said was the most normal explanation in the world. "Iâm usually able to avoid them, but it depends on how Iâm feeling, how anxious I am, and on whoâs in my surroundings. I have a few topics Iâd rather not discuss unless I have to, and Iâve had people really push my buttons without realizing that it was causing me to have a panic attack. But it was ages ago. Havenât happened in a month or so. Itâs not like the panic attacks have stopped. But the ones caused by triggering subjects have. More or less.âÂ
The hickey. But how do I prove itâs from him? He never told me her name. I canât be sure. If he is, I find this really funny. Iâm treating my friendâs girlfriend. This shouldnât be funny. Iâm supposed to be profession, but fuck itâs hilarious. Like he has to find out from me how sheâs doing mentally⊠or maybe Iâll have to find out from him if she continues the way she is. I feel like every few minutes she keeps lying to me. This will not do. Not do at all.
âI think one of the other doctors is going to talk to the staff. Sheâs taken on that job. I am too busy with infirmary duty to go around asking. However, she has a bit more time on her hands which means she can do it. However, I will find out what she finds out, and thank you for telling me that. Iâll let my co-worker know. Maybe we can get a few of those delinquents fired. Iâve heard some things about the guards here that Iâm not going to tell you, but donât be surprised that the next time that you try to get drinks itâll be to bust patients trying to get some.â Scare tactic. It only worked subconsciously, but it worked. âI suppose so, but donât try to hold too much on that though. Try to embrace your other friends just in case. Have a back up plan. You donât need to lean on the hope that sheâll forgive you.â Jasper didnât know Lex so he couldnât tell Cordelia what will happen, but he did know that teenage girls were a handful and often times unpredictable. If she was irrational enough to act the way that she had, it was possible that Lex might never forgive Cordelia for what she did. He didnât know, and he just wanted to make sure that Cordelia was going to be okay if everything went horribly. âWell we have two options to choose from here. Would you like me to up your anti-anxiety medications? Or would you like to start going over coping mechanisms for anxiety? We can do both if you want.â He shrugged.
"must love decorating for holidays, mischief, kissing in cars, and wind chimes. no specific height, weight, hair color, or political affiliation required but would prefer a warm spirited non racist. cynics, critics, pessimists, and âstick in the mudsâ need not apply. voluptuous figures a plus. any similarity in look, mind set, or fashion sense to mary poppins, claire huxtable, snow white, or elvira wholeheartedly welcomed. i am dubious of actresses, fellons and lesbians but dont want to rule them out entirely. must be tolerant of whistling, tickle torture, james taylor, and sleeping late. i have a slight limp, eerily soft hands, and a preternatural love of autumn. i once misinterpreted being called a coal-eyed dandy as a compliment when it was intended as an insult. i wiggle my feet in my sleep, am scared of the dark, and think the Muppets Christmas Carol is one of the greatest films of all time. all i want is butterfly kisses in the morning, peanut butter sandwiches shaped like a heart, and to make you smile until it hurts.

"Yeah, noâŠplease try not to crush our souls! That doesnât sound like fun! Ooh, I love Harry Potter! Umbridge was so mean, but she was really funny in the movie!", Siren giggled. "Ooh, YES! Iâd love to!", she almost shouted, clapping excitedly. "I love duets! I never really sang jazz, but maybe you could teach me some? Thatâs so cool though! Thatâs a pretty big leap though, jazz music to psychiatry? But you seem like youâd be a cool Doctor to have around, so thatâs cool that you decided to come and spend your time with us crazies", she giggled, making a silly, âcrazyâ face.
ââTis a pleasure to make your noble acquaintance, Lord Nicholsâ, she puffed her chest out pompously. âHowever, I am the King of this castle, and I demand your respect! Else I shall raise my army of mustachedâŠ..erâŠ.formerly mustachedâ, she gestured around at the suits of armor, shooting him a pointed look, ââŠsoldiers against your fine name!â, she tried not to giggle, even as she spotted her reflection in the hall mirror, and she looked quite silly.
Siren was so energetic! Jasper just knew she would be such a great influence on Grey. He needed to make sure to continue to encourage Grey to be friendly with her. âMy sister loves Harry Potter. She always dresses up as Hermione for Halloween.â At the facility sheâs in. Nevertheless, he laughed, because Cassandra would always look so cute with her red hair trying to pretend to be Hermione. He always tries to get her to dress up as Ginny, but she just loves Hermione so much he never succeeded. âI could definitely teach you, or I could sing pop. Iâm able to sing pop too.â He smiled. âIt is a big jump, but I had my reasons why I did so. Iâd like to hope that Iâm âcoolâ. I like to call you guys âspecialâ, because crazies sounds so⊠mean⊠you know?â He smiled.
âYou are not the King, you imposter! Queen Amelia is the ruler of this kingdom!â He declared while stamping his foot. âYou cannot command these men, because they are hers to command. I declare. If the Queen were to hear your treachery, she would have your head! Stand down before I tell the Queen!â
On-Duty II Sophia & Jasper
Sophia nodded. âIâve been trying to do some more research myself, based on a lot of the patients that Iâve worked withâŠ. I even wrote my Graduate Thesis on the subject, but it can get so frustrating when youâre working with people who seem to think that everything is fine the way it isâ, she shook her head. âOne of my patients at my old facility was admitted for depression, and it was after weâd been doing therapy for a while that she was diagnosed as a Psychopath as well. One of the Doctors I worked with tried to insist that I needed to extend her stay, and have her marked as dangerous, even though sheâd never committed any crimes, or seemed in any way truly dangerousâ, she sighed. âSometimes, I feel likeâŠ.people just donât want to list. Iâve had so many people try to tell me that I donât know what Iâm talking about, but to be completely honestâŠ.I was hoping that at some point, I could compile of publish my findingsâ, she admitted. âItâs also hard to be taken seriously as a woman, researching such a stigmatized subject. It gets so frustrating, especially because I worked so hard to get to where I am, and to be taken seriouslyâ. It was true. Sheâd met so many people whoâd tried to tell her she was wrong, or that she was wasting her time, or that sheâd never be a reputable Doctor, and it frustrated her immensely, though it had only made her more and more determined to succeed.
She nodded along with Jasperâs rant. âThatâs exactly it! I mean, god knows youâll always make steady money as a Doctor, because thereâs always a need for medical care, but I mean, you donât become a Doctor to get richâ, she agreed. âThatâs exactly true! I do feel the President is taking thing sin the right direction, but of course, heâs not going to get very far because of all of the bigots trying to oppose everything he does. And just to add to thatâŠ. Healthcare isnât the only thing people shouldnât have to worry about affordingâŠ. For instance, CollegeâŠ.we shouldnât have to risk going into debt to afford education either. I was lucky, I got a fair amount of aid because I grew up in a one-parent household, and I got several scholarships also, but there are so many people who end up with mountains of debt, or they just canât even afford school, and it seems while we have to struggle to pay for things that seem like basic rights, weâre just lining the pockets of the government and the wealthy. And donât even get me started on rich people refusing to pay taxesâ, she shook her head. âI mean, damn it, if you have ten million dollars, I donât care what you say, you can afford to pay half of it in taxesâŠ. Youâll still be richer than most of the population if you doâ. She shook her head. âDonât be sorry. Youâre exactly right. Itâs nice to talk to someone with a little senseâ
"Is that bad?", Sophia raised an eyebrow. "You were just saying that you agreed that growing up reading was better than growing up watching too much Television. And really, itâs not like thereâs a lot to do in this facility", she eyed him. "You really have something against this girl, donât you? Iâve never heard you talk like this before", she shrugged. "Hey! Thatâs different!", she protested. "That nurse had it comingâŠshe deserve it. Not only was she slacking off while on duty, but she seems to only come in to work when she feels like itâŠ.that is not acceptable or professional behavior. This is no place to be if you arenât going to take your job seriouslyâ
"Oh, I wouldnât need to lie to winâ, she smirked. It was nice having a little challengeâŠ.sheâd always loved a little competition, and it added an element of excitement to this job. Honestly, she knew she put in more effort than she really needed to in this job, but the facility just rubbed her the wrong wayâŠshe just couldnât stand the disorganization and chaos, and she was so determined to change things and make a difference. âI donât know about good taste, but honestly satire sounds good. Maybe we should swap our favorite titles sometime? Or just have a movie night⊠I could even make popcornâ, she laughed.  âYes, yes I am telling you to-Hey!â, she shrieked in surprise as he dipped her backwards, and she stumbled slightly in her high heels as she came up, grabbing onto his arm even tighter to steady herself, though she was fighting back a laugh. âYou couldâve dropped me!â, she pretended to scold him, even though in hindsight, it had actually been kind ofâŠ.fun. âMe? Lighten up? Are you kidding? How am I notâŠâlightâ, or whatever it is?â, she rolled her eyes.
As she talked, Jasper wondered if there was anything he could do to get her published. He knew many powerful people in the world. He wondered if he could talk to someone at one of the dinner parties that heâs supposed to go to once he settled in. Maybe heâd stop avoiding them, and maybe he would ask her to go with him so she could talk to some of his associates. He was sure she would impress them. If they were friends of his parents that meant that they were likely to be open-minded about these things. He was sure he could in a good word for her at least. âYou know, my family name has a lot of weight in this area. I bet I could get a publisher to come to a dinner party. You could probably talk to them, and show them out great your point is. Iâd love to let the whole world see how wrong their point of view is. I agree with you that this needs to be changed.â
Jasper couldnât believe that he was having a political discussion with someone at his work place. It was so uncommon that he was quite sure he knew nothing about his previous coworkerâs views on what was going in the world. He always thought they were indifferent about politics. âYouâre exactly right about everything you just said. There is so much wrong with America that needs repairing, but we have the worst period generation period ever period becoming adults. Theyâre becoming so unintelligent that theyâre starting to not care about what is going on. Theyâre just going to allow everyone to stomp all over them long as they have their internet.â He sighed before holding Sophia closer.
âNo, itâs just I donât think she has a social life otherwise. She needs to get along with more people. Plus⊠sheâs friends with one of the girls Iâve been watching over, and I just donât know if sheâs a good example for her. I donât hate her. I just⊠I donât know. She just annoys me.â Jasper sighed as he thought about the girl. She just reminded him of those girls that thought they were better than everyone, because she knew more than most people. It annoyed him more than he could explain.
âMe drop you? No, absolutely not. Iâm quite sure I know how to dance.â Jasper smiled as she shrieked in delight. It made his heart swell as he watched her enjoy his dancing. It was nice that she was enjoying her time with him. âIâd love to have a movie night with you.â He smiled softly as he held her carefully.
Shana sighed, and sat back, stopping in her attempts to flirt. âIâm sorry, I really amâŠ.I didnât mean to miss therapyâŠyouâre actually not too bad to talk toâ, she smiled. âI really do just want to talkâ she pouted, sticking out her lower lip. âPlease can I stay? Please? Iâll stop stealing your foodâ, she added, joking, cracking a small smile.
Jasper pulled off his coat and held it out to her. âYou wear this, and Iâll allow you to stay. Long as you treat this like a therapy session, and yes⊠donât eat my food.â Jasper wanted this to be clear that he was allowing her in there only, so she could talk about whatever she wanted to talk about.Â
Overdrive || OPEN
"Iâll settle for calling you Chipmunk for now, then." Kaiden smirked toothily, before his brows shot up with intrigue as Jasper spoke of cooking. "You and me both; I quite literally burn almost anything I attempt to cook.â With a small smile, he shrugged a shoulder. âI thought Iâd clarify, before you question my taste in women,â he joked lightly. âMonogamous?â Humming in thought, Kaiden tilted his head to the side as he idly flicked away a few leaves sitting atop the motorcycle handles. âI suppose youâre right to assume that.â
   â Suppose, because he wasnât too sure himself.
Once Jasper got into his, rather, expensive car, Kaiden drove closely beside him. He attempted to keep composed as he drove. But he couldnât help but crack an amused grin as Jazzâs overly loud music and singing passed through his ears.Â
Upon pulling up by the restaurant, Kaiden kicked down the vehicleâs stand as he stood, before leaving his helmet hanging on the handle. At the sound of Jasperâs voice, he turned to face him. Raising a brow, he noted, âDemanding." A crooked smirk ghosted across his lips. Clapping Jazz on the shoulder, he scoffed a laugh. "But  n o. How about we both pay?â After gesturing for him to follow, the pair entered the restaurant. âBy the way, you sing with an awful lot of heart,â he teased.
âOh donât do that. Iâll find you an equally annoying and embarrassing nickname if you do.â Jasper laughed warmly as he listened to Kaiden talk about cooking. âIâm glad someone understands me. Cooking is just not my thing. I canât do it.â Jasper had always asked his mother if she wanted any help with cooking, but she always told him that she had it, or she would get him to do the dishes or set the table. He was just horrible at managing to prepare meals for himself. The only thing he could cook was ramen noodles and grilled cheese.
Jasperâs smile spread wider as Kaiden picked on him, âIâm a hard date to impress. You have to pull out the red carpet and all.â While he would have done that for any female in his life, he really was easy to please. If a girl wanted to go to a pizza parlor with him he would really have like that. He loved just doing small dates, because they could spend more time actually talking to each other. âNo, but really, weâre both going to pay for our own meal. I was just trying to joke with you, and thank you. I happen to think my singing is very soulful like Aretha Franklin when she sung Respect. I feel like the king of soul.â He laughed tilting his head back.
He found a booth in the corner and sat where he could see all of the people and watch them. He often tried to get to know everyone in one place just to see the hodge-podge of people in the room.
