Introducing Live Alkaline Water, the first #BlackOwned water brand to have products sold at Walmart. ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā With its headquarters based in Jacksonville, Florida, the company uses water that comes from aĀ natural alkaline water spring in North Carolina that Robert McCrayās family has ownedĀ for more than 100 years. McCray told First Coast News that his aunt once took him out to the spring andĀ saidĀ "youāre the blood of your ancestors crying out for you and youāre responsibleĀ for this.ā According to Black Enterprise, āthe water is sourced from a natural underground spring, an aquifer, and a mineral rock bed that lies 800 feet below the ground making it extremely pure and fresh to the taste.ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā ā McCray went on to team up with Dr. Shayla CreerĀ to developĀ the brand.Ā "I called ⦠many Walmarts, and finally we got a hold of one who allowed us to do a presentation,ā Dr. Creer said. After aĀ successfulĀ presentation, the water went on to sell out within a monthĀ of hitting shelves, andĀ is now sold in a total of three WalmartĀ locations in northern Florida. The retail giant intends to continue to sell the water and hopes to add the products to even more of its stores.Ā āHealthy people make a healthy community,ā McCray said. āEat right, drink right and you begin to think right, as a people.ā The water can also be purchased online: www.livealkalinewater.com

A new chatbot called Raheem.ai helps the public rate police interactions.
Founder Brandon D. Anderson created the company after his partner was killed by police in a traffic stop gone bad.
Raheem.ai is backed by an accelerator for nonprofits called FastForward.
Raheem.ai anonymizes all the data it collects so users can be as candid as they like without fear of retaliation. The start-up plans to publish quarterly reports showing where police are working well or failing communities across the U.S. It will also deliver custom reports to precincts, cities or campuses to help them pinpoint areas for improvement, Anderson said.
