July 4 , finally I got my RAIC, after normal duty. I participated the gate duty .Today was very busy . It was my first day. I am not sure about the processing to the gate . I wait for Sara and went inside with her . When I was there . The passenger already Line on the line at row 39 -49 , and Row 59- 77.

What I did is use to check the passenger passport information, and the boarding , to make sure is matched. I am a little surprised with such traditional, but useful ways to check .

The process way is good , to double check all information and when passengers board the aircraft, just hold the boarding pass . More easy and quick way to pass the gate . It is the tip that Cathay Pacific always performs well on time and arrive on time !

Time flies so quick. Our field placement with Cathay Pacific more than 1 month now . I am more confident with what customer agent service work . Earlier waking up to go to work is still challenging for me . But I become be more enjoyable with shift classmate.

There is not enough passengers this morning. Half of passengers in the flight . My duty today is KOS . For the KOS , I found one problem jump out . Some passengers , who travel as a group 5 or 6 members do not have enough time to process all passengers in the limited time . I don’t know how much time for this machine? I tried to push client as soon as possible to do ? Sometimes felt a little rude attitude. Will try to nice way to explain clearly to let clients felt accepted way.

Jun7 ,Journey

June, it is a challenge month , after one month’s replacement . We also have some experience about KOS , Queue and S . We really enjoy the work more than the first month. Every time to meet the classmate is the happy time to share the feeling with each other. We are growing up with one month’s work . We have more experience to face to the different clients . We are eager to get our RAIC as soon as possible . Then we can open the another door into another to gain more experience.

Finally I got my parking pass yesterday. I am so happy that I do not pay from my pocket ! Today weather is so nice , we successfully find our parking spot . We come earlier and take the airport train from viscount station . The time is quick than our expection . We still arrive the field placement 1 hr earlier as usual time . Tonight we have more classmate , Jasmeen, Alexandra and Shiva to join . Tong and I are on the KOS duty . Jasmeen is on duty Q. Shiva is also Kos duty . Alexandra is S duty . When we get outside , there are already a long queue in that drop bags area,. They are not organized in the queue. We try to arrange them on the right position as soon as we can . And make more space to other passengers. All things going smoothly . We finish our duty happily tonight . A good teamwork !

This is the first time that I do bag drop in the different side …. More new experience about the checked bags. Need control the weight .Weigh the carrying bag 7 kg firstly and then let passengers arrange the weight by themselves if too overweight . Oversized checked luggage should control the weight around 23kg , too ! Meeting different faces every day and I really enjoy this kind of jobs.

May 20, Night shift!

The first night shift placement . As usual , we arrive earlier . The night shift is totally different with the 5:30 shift . The counter area and bags drop area changed . My shirt duty is 9s tonight. At beginning I have no ideas .Under supervisor Amanda’s guidance, I understand the policy about carrying luggage and checked luggage. I know how to deal with oversized baggage. Weigh the luggage first , take a sticker from the bag tag and write the amount on the paper list . These all experience is very useful and practical than the knowledge that I learned from school. We have excellent time with each other .

May 10: The journey of Field placement Of Cathay Pacific Airways

May 4 , 2025 , I was so excited to drive to the Pearson Airport, terminal 3 and attended to the Orientation of Cathy Pacific. The training was useful and practical to help us to get ready for the placement jobs , We were looking forward for the coming experience. This would be an important step for all of us.

Thanks for the Cathay give me the valuable opportunity to step my foot into the Aviation Industry. Have a fun and challenging job!
