p>I was going to wait until morning to post this, and in all honesty I probably should because it’s three pm and I’m shaking I’m so upset right now. It would sound better if I waited, but I’m not sure I’m gonna sleep well until I say this. I honestly can’t believe you all. It’s one thing to hate her–that’s toxic enough in and of itself. It is entirely another thing to write in a chat that you wish she that she would die. That you wished she and Mark could have sex on the stream. That you wished Mark and the boys would “gang rape her till she cries”. I don’t think you all understand how absolutely unacceptable how serious this is. This is why I’ve said, since the creation of this blog, hating Amy was wrong. Yes, you’re entitled to your opinion, whatever, fine. But if you’re opinion is rooted in jealousy, if you’re reasons are “But septiplier is my otp! Mark loves Jack!” Or “But I love Mark! He belongs to me!” That is so, so wrong. If you choose to express that opinion via the comments I stated above, namely death threats or threats of sexual assault, we need to have a talk. Firstly, I don’t know if you guys think this is funny, like it’s a joke or if you don’t think it’s that serious–it is. Threatening these things is illegal and if you threaten someone to kill themselves, especially online, and they do it–you’re charged with murder. End of story. I’m assuming most of you saying this are kids, probably sixteen and under. I don’t think a healthy, cognizant adult would say these things. These are serious, serious things. Not jokes. I’m also assuming that most of you saying these things are girls. As a woman who has been sexually harassed and stalked, let me tell you, it’s fucking terrifying. And trust me, a large amount of you are going to be sexually harassed in your life. If you’re a woman, there’s a big chance it’s gonna happen so don’t say it to someone else.. That’s the other thing I’m not sure you guys are aware of: they can see the chat. Mark, the boys, and Amy can read everything you say once you post it to that chat, which they had pulled up at the time of the stream. Amy probably saw everything you said. Mark most likely saw everything you said. I want you to do me a big favor. I want you to sit down and imagine you’re relaxing with your friends, having a good time. I want you to imagine maybe you aren’t really close to your friends in that room. Now, I want you to picture someone watching you all through the window, scowling at you. I want you to imagine you phone lighting up with a text, and it reads I hope they gang rape you till you cry. And then you have to sit there with your friends and smile like nothing happened. I’m not saying these things to make you feel guilty–although some of you could probably use some guilt–and I’m not saying it to scare you. These are facts, guys, and I want to figure out what is broken in this community that needs fixing. Saying these things to Amy are 100%, absolutely unacceptable and disgusting. Let’s face it: you don’t know Amy. I don’t know Amy. I follow her on Twitter, I see her in the videos–I know next to nothing about her. If you know nothing about her, I want you to ask yourself why you dislike her. I’m assuming this boils down to two reasons: the shippers and the fan girls. Neither of these groups are necessarily bad, they can be respectful, but like every group, there’s unfortunately extremists. To the fangirls: Amy is not direct competition with you. I know you like watching Mark, and you think he’s cute. That’s great! I’m glad you like watching him–but you need to rationally understand that the chances of you meeting Mark are slim, and the chances of him falling in love with you, a fourteen year old, are next to none. I blame this attitude on society that constantly paints girls vs girls conflicts as common, and makes the fortunate pretty girl mean. Amy is not mean, she’s not here to steal Mark from you. She’s here to make him happy. To the shippers: Amy is not in direct competition with your otp. Please keep in mind your ship is fictional and does not have a chance of happening in this millennium. Mark is straight, and Amy doesn’t have a chance of inserting herself into your fanfiction to ruin your life, okay? Septiplier lives, just don’t pretend it’s real. Because it’s not. In fact, when you do that, you manage to make everyone within a 20 mile radius uncomfortable. Your ship can exist with Amy, I promise. This community is a positive place, and if you choose to spread hate, I will not hesitate to report you to the Tumblr staff, twitter staff, YouTube staff, or wherever I happen to see it. Amy is a real person, and if you respect and love Mark the way you say you do, you have to respect her too. Period.
