Author's current mood: i’m finally writing again!! I feel like i needed that little break to collect my thoughts and now I have a definite direction of the story, some themes, and a few more ideas for characterization. Yay!! Good to be back <3

Most recent plot point: The Silver Sanctum meets again to discuss strategy in the upcoming attack against Cyllene. Callisto reads all of the members’ thoughts to give a convenient insight into these new characters’ motivations and personalities! Characters include Eira, Loreiil, Aerin, Faenor, and Oriel. And, later, Elodie.

Favorite quote from this week: “‘Well, maybe when this is all over, we can go to the beach,’ Faenor said, and he looked at Aerin like the last glimmering star in the sky before sunrise.” What a poetic thing to say about that whiny bitch of a man! Faenor really loves him, huh? It shows how willing he is to compromise and how that may be the end of him... anyway, they weren’t even supposed to be gay, it was just kind of a thing that happened naturally. I never know with new characters, their dynamic might totally change as I write or I might have accidentally done something genius here. More gays are always a good idea.

Author's current mood: tiiiiiiiredddddduh. This blog is becoming more of a Tuesday thing, I guess. And writing is becoming more of a never thing because this last week was so busy with work. And now, I’m away from home for a while and it’s tough to keep up while I’m having fun and learning </3 but i’ll try harder this next week 🫡

Most recent plot point: Callisto wakes up and then goes to the Silver Sanctum, noticing some things along their way to talk to King Aedric about the following times. They reflect on what they overheard the night before and what it says about their companions.

Favorite line I wrote this week: it’s a shallow pool because I wrote like half a page, but I guess it’ll be “[Callisto] could investigate it when they were done saving the world, they figured.” Love how they’re casual about it. Goodnight.

Author's current mood: I feel like a lightning bug that just burst on somebody’s windshield, destroyed but still glowing. I’m such a chud and a loser 😔 but it’s ok because I have lesbians

Most recent plot point: Lynette and Caladea (oh my god they’re lesbian colors) just had a heart to heart on the random street (which involves Caladea confessing that she is the runaway popstar, Sherbert7). Then they got lost on the way back to the palace where they were staying the night and stayed out till like 3:00. Caladea goes off to her own room, and Lynette is feeling a little weird because she knows a big secret of Caladea’s, but Caladea doesn’t know hers. (She is secretly an extended member of the Granian royal family, Lynn Sydney, who was disowned by her family and fled the country just before the rebellion in Grania. That’s the secret. It’s a big deal.)

Favorite line I wrote this week: “Not an echo bounced back to her ears, as if the room itself had decided this was a secret worth keeping, and had buried it in its walls. Lynette ignored the bitter taste in her mouth, evoked by the rotten syllables, and figured that was the best place she could keep it. There, and on the gravestone that she knew laid somewhere in Braxton, Grania.” Ya Lynette faked her death or something

Author's current mood: still lesbian, less tired! I’m drinking boba rn. Also I had to write a bar scene and I’m clueless when it comes to drinks (bc i’m literally six years old) so I deadass had to google “kinds of alcohol in a bar” </3 twas funny though

Most recent plot point: Lynette and Caladea go out in downtown Ccor-Cci to buy a drink and get some food. They have a long conversation that reveals some things about their characters, then Caladea leaves in a hurry to also reveal something about her character.

Favorite line I wrote this week: “Plus, I like being things that people don’t take me for. Keeps everyone on their toes.” Lynette said this after Caladea confronted her about being a “wine person” despite seeming otherwise. She has levels and she knows it— she’s not confined to just one person’s view of her and had a lot of traits that conflict each other, yet also make perfect sense to her. This is also a little bit of foreshadowing for the fact that Lynette and Caladea are going to be in a relationship, and not a stereotypical sapphic one either. I love femme4femme!!!!

Author's current mood: at peace! I’m out for summer break now, so I have infinitely more time to write and be with friends. I hope to write 5 pages in tot every week, as opposed to my average of three per week during the school year. I also reached 25k words, 1/3 of my goal of 75k in the rough draft. Very very happy!!!

Most recent plot point: Callisto and Ophelia have a one-on-one talk and Callisto’s relationships with some of the other main characters are fleshed out a little more. A bit of foreshadowing for an ending I may or may not keep too.

My name is Jamie Ray (not really), and I’m a high schooler, a genderqueer lesbian, and a future author. I’ve decided to start this blog series to motivate myself to keep writing this summer! My first book, Tale of Toslia, has been a dream of mine since I was 12 years old. After years of worldbuilding and worrying how to start it, I decided to just jump in and start writing my first draft. That was back in January. The meeting did not go how anyone in attendance expected, but He at least has a team formed. This team is now sitting in their guest bedrooms of the palace, trying to figure out what to do with themselves before they start their journey.
