In the wake of the heartbreaking loss of Jamal and Salma, our hearts ache with grief for their families, friends, and community. Their presence brought immeasurable joy, love, and kindness to those around them, leaving a lasting mark on our lives.
In honor of and to support their families, we've created a GoFundMe page to rally around Jamal and Salma during this unimaginably difficult time in the Gaza Strip. Your generosity will assist with essentials such as housing, food, transportation, and pay for the reconstruction of their home and the treatment of Jamal’s sick grandfather
I am Jamal, a 10-year-old boy with three sisters. I used to live a beautiful, happy life with my family in our lovely home until the war came and destroyed everything we cherished. We could hear the sounds of planes bombing, missiles, and homes being destroyed. One day, my father told us our area had become dangerous and we had to leave to ensure our safety
We moved to what we were told was a safe area, but there wasn't enough food or proper shelter. We lived in tents that didn't protect us from the winter cold. My father lost his job and couldn't afford food, sweets, or milk for my baby sister, who was born during the war. She doesn't even have a proper bed or enough clothes.
One day, my father came to my mother and told her our house had been destroyed and my grandfather was very ill. We didn't have enough money for his treatment and food, and his health was deteriorating rapidly. Today, I am reaching out to you for help to buy food, medicine, and rebuild our house.

انتقلنا إلى ما قيل لنا أنه منطقة آمنة، ولكن لم يكن هناك ما يكفي من الطعام أو المأوى المناسب. عشنا في خيام لم تحمينا من برد الشتاء. فقد والدي وظيفته ولم يستطع تحمل تكاليف الطعام أو الحلوى أو الحليب لأختي الرضيعة التي ولدت أثناء الحرب. ليس لديها حتى سرير مناسب أو ملابس كافية.
