The Nightmare Child
I believe the Nightmare Child began as a new Time Lord with all his regenerations flying into battle is his TARDIS. I believe that something happened, and their physical bodies were stripped away. Their souls, which contained the power of the vortex and the power of regeneration, merged. They became as a child, but not in a physical sense, more of a presence, a being that had no form, still learning of its capabilities. And as it was born in the heat of battle, it quickly learned that all there was to life was hate and malice and death and war. But it had little power, until it learned something: it could capture the souls of anyone or anything who died on the field of battle and merge it with its own. Time Lords, TARDIS’s, even Daleks. All those souls, infused with the essence of the Time Vortex and regeneration, all festering in the madness of war. All those souls joined, and within half a year, it went from nearly powerless to nearly immortal.Â
And so was born the Nightmare Child.
