being in a room surrounded by a bunch of people that could possibly kill you, during a big event like this? sofia felt completely in her element. she's been in much worse situations before, & knew she'd be the one to attack first; if the situation called for it. keeping a watchful eye and studying her surroundings, she only scoffed a bit at the mention of staying home.
"I love you, but sometimes we both have different variations of what we find 'comfortable'." she explained with a smile, before taking a sip of her drink. "well. security is good as security gets. they suck at watching the uninvited guests who broke in, which means there's bigger plans for tonight." she stated observantly, as she turned to face her. she knew how difficult it must be for jade, but she also knew what she alone was capable of.
"don't worry about what you can't control. only focus on what you're capable of. weaknesses are only good if you can use it against someone." sofia continued as she rested her hands on jade's shoulders. "don't show them your feelings. adapt & hide in plain sight. whatever happens tonight, we'll be okay."
She snorted out a laugh, amused at Sofia's comment. Even if she knew it was nothing but the truth. They couldn't be more different, starting by the way they were brought into this life and the reasons they stayed. Sofia had grown up surrounded by this, in a sense... so Jade wasn't surprise when she couldn't feel an ounce of tension in her body. Instead, she took all the comfort she could from her presence.
"Like stalking? Breaking in?." She teased, thinking back to how they met, before her focus changed, shifted into everything her wife was listing, letting her run around away from her, taking in the faces of everyone around them. She figured that out too, given how easy they were able to sneak in, so it was either poorly planned or they were hoping to make a statement.
She hummed, looking back at Sofia, her free hand moving up to grasp one of Sofia's resting on her shoulder. "I know, I know... I'm not letting my guard down, and I am perfectly capable of defending myself, no feelings." She listed off herself, giving her wife a small smirk. "I'm just saying a bad movie and some pop corns don't even sound that bad right now."
