strawberry fields forever

It’s just been one thing after another. I normally have at least a weekend before jumping into things, but this time around, we got here on Monday and I was going to school by Tuesday. I got lost, yelled at, and given a speeding ticket all within four days. 

Ugh, that sounds awful. I take it you’re at West Dillon, yeah? Damn, your parents could’ve given you at least a day to get used to the place. There are maps at the school, if they’d help? In fact, I think a lot of stores and stuff have the same maps, so that could help prevent you from getting lost again. Honestly though, it’s such a small town that I really wouldn’t worry about it; keep walking and you’ll eventually find what you’re looking for. You’ll find your way around, I’m sure. Speeding ticket sucks, though — the cops here are so picky. Unless you’re a footballer, that is. Who yelled at you?

Yes, you were. You look like you haven’t eaten in a century, Iz. I have some more in the fridge if you want to help yourself.

I actually ate like, an hour ago, but you bet I want to help myself. You’re the best, Pops.

Yes - I’m sure the boys won’t mind if we use their apartment or we could go see a movie. Um so Kyle and I are together…

Nah, as long as we use the door this time. What?! As in, officially? Oh my gosh, Ems — we can double date!

I do! Well you’re simply too kind. I appreciate the company. Is he? I usually hear him snoring when he’s here. That’s good, Iz. Oh yeah? I heard it’s gonna be a good one this year. People are excited about it.

Why does he even bother getting out of bed if he’s going to sleep here anyways? So not worth the effort. Yeah? Of course they are, it’s because they have the best director ever!

I mean that in the most pleasant and happiest of ways, Iz! Really? I’m so lucky! You’re curing me of boredom honestly. It’s goin’ alright. Other than cleaning nothings going on here. How’re you doin’ tiny?

Mm, you’d better. Yeah, of course! I couldn’t let you drive yourself to tears with boredom, could I now? I can see that, it looks like the old guy in the corner is asleep... I’m doin’ good, mhm. Helping out with the school musical is actually more fun than I anticipated.

Homecoming huh? Who wants to go with me then? I’m a terrible wheelchair dancer but hey I always have a seat for you when your feet hurt from your shoes. 

You’re the ideal homecoming date, Jay. If only you’d been in your senior year at the same time as me.
