Guidelines:

You can change the words of the chant to what suits you better.  It can be said out loud or in your mind.  You can repeat it many times to help raise energy. You can replace the glass of water for tea or wine.  Practicing energy work and meditation daily can make spells and rituals easier. You can add any extra items as you wish, such as having a crystal near you, having candles or other tools. I created as simple as possible so beginners can practice it easily.  Feel free to change and adapt as you wish Do it on a full moon.  This particular ritual can help you to awake or strengthen your connection with divinity, as well as bring protection and guidance.

What can be classified as a spell?

Considering that spells are methods to change reality, prayers, chants, mantras, the use of physical objects to draw in some energy, such as crystals among other practices can fall under the definition of the word spell. 

However many people would disagree, for instance, that prayer could be considered a spell because these people have a wrong idea about it. Usually, they consider it to be some sort of evil manipulation. Spells aren´t evil, the practitioner chooses what the goal is and rather that is beneficial to the people involved or not. 

Even if we are aware or not, when we think and feel about something really strong or even say it out loud with strong feelings, it´s a form of a spell. And in that case, when we are not aware, we can end up causing harm by using this inner power against ourselves if we are under some distress or our perception of the world is distorted. 

Spells

I know that maybe casting spells, for beginners, can be quite overwhelming. You might experience fear of messing it up, fear of some spiritual backlash and so on. 

I want to say to you what would say to my younger witch self. You don´t have to overcomplicate spells in order for it to work. In fact, the most complicated it might feel to you, less likely it is to work because your energy is going to be scattered. 

Now, don´t get me wrong. I´m all for trying new things and I totally think you should get out of comfort zone and try things out. However, you don´t have to do things in a certain way, because someone told you so, or you read it in a book. 

Maybe you are a person who likes cooking, perhaps focusing on cooking spells is easy for you and it seems to work. Then, why not do it? Maybe you are someone who likes to draw, why not adapt sigil magic, mandala or talismanic magic into it and make it your own kind of spell? Perhaps you play an instrument or you sing, why not create a chant for cleansing you home, blessing an object or for another purpose and make it into a song? There are so many ways of casting spells, other than the most common ones you will find on books and on the internet, that I could literally write a book on it.

You don´t have to do all sorts of spell and bring several elements and complicated rituals into it. The more relaxed you can be with your spell casting, the better it is. 

Maybe you are not into color magic, or you don´t know enough to add it to your spells. In that case, you don´t have to use it. For instance, you don´t need to get 10 different candle colors, white ones work fine for any purpose. Perhaps, you actually don´t like candles or can´t use it where you are, then don´t use it. Your spells won´t be less powerful because of it. 

Basically, what I´m trying to say is pick the objects and cast the spell in a way that you feel good about it. Spells are ways to put you in a mode of cocreating your desires into reality, it´s not the spell itself or the objects that hold the power, it´s you! Spells are supposed to be fun and make you feel empowered/ energized. If you are not feeling that maybe you should change your spell in a way that makes you feel more comfortable and joyful. Of course, the first times you might feel a little bit nervous and it´s okay, it´s normal to experience some anxiety when trying something new. But you should be able to feel an excitement underlying the anxiety. 

And when you are trying things out, don´t be so hard on yourself. Everyone is different, you just have to try a little differently next time. Try to learn to listen to your intuition on that one.
