Brown guilty eyes and little white lies. Yeah, I played dumb but I always knew. That you'd talk to her, maybe did even worse.
You saw it, of course you did.
You knew him. You could sense when something was happening. When something wasn’t alright.
The look in his eyes gave it all away. It made you sick, making you realize you were right.
He gave you a kiss on the forehead, the feeling of his lips not lasting long.
“I’ll text you if I’ll get home late.”
A flicker of something in his eyes. Something different. Something that made your stomach hurt even more.
And you just hummed, nodding your head.
Because you knew that he’d text you.
Three hours after he left, a massage popped up on your phone. Short and cold.
| I’ll be late, don’t wait for me.
Few empty words that you knew would be there.
But you still hoped. Still hoped that you were just being paranoid.
When he came home, avoiding your eyes as he got ready for bed, you knew.
You cleared your throat, trying to get his attention.
“How was the day with boys?”
You asked, your voice soft. As you tried to get some information without asking for it.
“With boys? Yeah, yeah it was good.”
Just let out a soft hum, nodding your head.
And when he laid down next to you, pulling you into his arms, you knew he wasn’t where he told you.
I kept quiet so I could keep you.
And ain't it funny. How you ran to her. The second that we called it quits?
You sat in your friends living room, tears streaming down your face.
Your hands shaking as you stared at the photo on your phone.
His arms around her waist, a wide smile on his lips. And the look in his eyes as he stared at her.
The look he once gave you.
Her head was thrown back, laughing at something he must’ve said.
It has been two weeks since it ended between you two. Two weeks since you felt like drowning.
And there he was, swimming with another woman in his arms.
And ain't it funny. How you said you were friends?
You didn’t mean to pry. You didn’t want to be an obsessive ex.
But you wanted to know what was going on.
You wanted to know if he was alright without you. If you were the only one hurting.
You were scrolling on your phone, TikTok sounds filling the silence of the room when you were met with a video.
Your breath hitched when you saw her. Her beautiful, blue eyes shining. Her smile wide as she caressed the arms around her waist.
The tattoos making your eyes tear up.
Because those tattooed arms were once around your waist. They once caressed your bare skin.
Those were the arms that once felt like home.
And when you watched the video. Over and over and over again. Like a broken record, you remembered his words.
You remembered the argument.
“Baby, I’m telling you for the last fucking time.”
He started, taking a deep breath so he wouldn’t yell. Because he knew you hated it.
“We’re friends. Yeah, she hangs out with me and guys sometimes. But that doesn’t mean we have something going on.”
He reassured you. His eyes soft, mirroring his voice.
You titled your head to the side, looking at him with teary eyes. The doubt in them noticeable.
He sighed, walking closer to you. His arms around your waist, pulling you into him.
He mumbled out, leaning closer to you face as he pressed a soft kiss on your forehead.
“And I’ll never love anyone more.”
Now it sure as hell don't look like it.
Now you bring her around. Just to shut me down. Show her off like she's a new trophy.
You didn’t want to be there. You felt like throwing up. Like you would pass in a moment.
But your friend had a party, celebrating his birthday. And you didn’t want to miss it.
The fact that it was a mutual friend of you and Vinnie made it all worse.
You looked around the space of the living room you were in. Everything was so loud, so uncomfortable.
And as you sipped your drink, your eyes noticed those two.
His hand was resting on her lower back as they walked into the room. He started talking to some of the people, probably introducing her.
There was a smirk on his face, his hand tightening around her. She was smiling, her red lips wide.
His back was straight, his arms flexing. And you immediately recognized the posture.
And I know if you were true. There's no damn way that you Could fall in love with somebody that quickly.
You were laying in bed, staring up at the ceiling. Your cheeks wet from tears.
Your mind replaying all your moments with Vinnie. All the memories you gained together during your relationship.
He mumbled out into the silence as he stared at you. Your blushed cheeks made him laugh.
His hand caressing your skin.
You were laying in bed with him, sheets pooling over your waist.
The look in his eyes made something in you stir. Your wide-eyed gaze, meeting his loving eyes.
“I’m so in love with you. So so in love with you.”
He whispered. And you just listened with a small smile on your face.
“I can’t imagine my life without you in it.”
But now, as you laid in bed alone. You knew that he wasn’t telling the truth.
Because how could he love someone else now? When it was like a month since you heard those words coming from his lips.
Your stomach hurt when you imagined those words being said to her. With the same softness. With the same eyes, staring at her face.
And her smiling. Just like you did.
Ain't it funny. All the twisted games. All the questions you used to avoid?
He was sitting at the kitchen island, his head leaning against his hand as he stared at you.
You hummed to yourself, swaying your hips to the song that was playing as you made dinner.
Thoughts were worrying your mind but you didn’t say anything. Because it always ended the same.
The argument earlier was still in your mind, hurting your heart.
You turned around to look at him, leaning back against the counter.
He stared at you, observing your expression as he was trying to find out if you were still mad.
“I’m just trying to understand what’s going on. What’s up with the games you’re pla-“
He didn’t let you go on, sighing lowly.
“Baby, stop with those twisted games or whatever you call it. I’m not playing anything.”
He said. His voice gruff, holding a hint of irritation. Vinnie was never mean to you, never snapped at you.
But his temper was wearing thin for some reason. So he wasn’t paying much attention to how he talked to you.
“Then just tell me what’s up with you.”
You said, wrapping your arms around yourself.
“Nothing’s wrong with me. What’s wrong with you, hm? You seem sad lately.”
You let out a sigh, shaking your head as you turned back towards the kitchen counter.
Of course he avoided the question.
Ain't it funny? Remember I brought her up And you told me I was paranoid.
Teary eyes were staring into his brown ones, your bottom lip trembling as you tried to take a deep breath.
He stared at you, thinking about what to say next. Thinking if anything could make it alright.
His gaze was guilty and you immediately knew, that whatever was going through your mind was right.
“Just be honest with me, Vin.”
You mumbled out, your voice hoarse from crying.
“I can see it. I can see the way you look at me now. I can see the way you look at her.”
You titled your head to the side, sniffling as you looked away from a second.
Because looking at him hurt more. Looking at him made you realize how fucked up this was.
“It’s not a friendship that’s between you two.”
He sighed, shaking his head.
“Stop this. You’re only hurting yourself with those thoughts. We hang out sometimes, yeah. But that doesn’t mean there’s something between us.”
And you really wanted to believe him. But your heart didn’t let you.
“You used to look at me that way… with softness and emotion. Everything that was in your eyes when you looked at me is now there only when you look at her.”
And he only stared at you, his eyes slowly widening. Because you were right.
And both of you knew that.
But he still only shook his head and walked closer to you, taking your face in his hands.
“Stop being paranoid, baby. I only look at you that way. Only you, because I love you.”
And you somehow fell for that.
When she's sleeping in the bed we made. Don't you dare forget about the way. You betrayed me.
You laughed loudly when you saw Vinnie struggling to understand the instructions.
You said, taking the paper out of his hands. You stared at it for a moment, humming to yourself.
He cleared him throat, obviously trying not to laugh.
“You’re holding the paper upside down, baby.”
He said, hiding his laugh with coughing.
Your cheeks redden a little while you turned the paper over. You stared at it for a little longer before looking back at Vinnie.
“Should we call someone to do it?”
You said and he started laughing.
He stood up from his crouching position on the floor, walking towards you.
His arms wrapped themselves around you and you immediately snuggled into him.
“We can make the bed ourselves.”
He said, looking at the instructions over your shoulder.
Your eyes were tearing up only at the thought of her, laying on the bed you two made.
On the bed that was made while you two laughed your asses off, enjoying the atmosphere between the two of you.
Your stomach felt sick at the thought of the two of them laying on the bed, arms around each other.
And him, looking at her like he used to look at you.
Cause I know that you'll never feel sorry. For the way I hurt, yeah You'd talk to her. When we were together
You hoped he regretted it at least a little. You hoped that every time he looked at her, he saw you.
You felt like your heart was ripped out of your chest, you felt like dying.
You’d never guess that he’d hurt you like this.
You felt stupid for noticing that late.
You didn’t think anything weird about him, having a lot of phone calls. Or him, receiving a lot of messages.
He was a known person after all. So you understood.
But after some time, it started getting weird. And you started getting suspicious.
He started smiling when someone texted him, laughed when he called someone.
He always said it was his friend, brother or mom.
But you didn’t believe it.
One evening he ended a call with someone and you looked at him with that knowing gaze, he knew what you were thinking about.
“It was mom. She’s asking how you are.”
And you hummed, nodding your head.
Acting like his mom didn’t just text you if Vinnie’s okay because he wasn’t answering her calls.
And that wasn’t the only time something like that happened.
He walked out of the room one time because his brother was calling him, of course.
So you stoped the movie, you two were just watching. As you scrolled on instagram, liking your friends posts.
And then Reggie started calling you, you furrowed your eyebrows, picking up the call.
“Hey, is Vinnie alright?”
And you were silent for a moment, just staring at the door. The door Vinnie walked out of, saying he had a phone call from his brother.
The brother that was just calling you.
It took you two weeks. To go off and date her.
It wasn’t even a month after you two broke up.
And yet, he started posting her, acting like he wasn’t saying he loved you just some days ago.
Like he wasn’t going on about how he wanted to marry you months ago.
It felt weird, seeing them together. Because even after everything, you still hoped that you were only being paranoid.
That the messages on his phone weren’t from her. That they were only your imagination.
That the way he looked at her on the photos was just your mind, playing tricks on you.
You couldn’t believe your own eyes when your read the caption of the post.
You frowned, trying to calm your beating heart down.
Did he forget that you were his first?
Did he forget those moments when he called you that?
“You’re the one and only for me.”
He mumbled into your hair, pulling you closer to him.
Your heart melting at his soft words. And at the gentleness he touched you with.
Guess you didn't cheat. But you're still. You're still a traitor
He stood before you, his eyes guilty.
“Maybe you were right the entire time.”
He mumbled out, making your heart break even more. Making your stomach sick.
You took a deep breath, looking away from him.
“How long are you together?”
You mumbled out, not prepared for his next words.
“We’re not. That’s why I’m doing this.”
You looked over at him, your eyebrows furrowed as you shook your head. You didn’t understand.
“I want us to be together. I want it without feeling guilty.”
Tears streamed down your face, lump forming in your throat.
You only stared at him, replaying his words in your mind. He wouldn’t feel guilty after this?
You packed your things the next day, gave him the keys from the apartment that everything happened in.
And then you left, not looking back.
She was in the apartment the same day you left, acting like nothing happened.
And you only wished that he felt guilty even more.
Maybe everyone was right when they said that something has to end so that something better can begin.
But you didn’t know that the better would be her.
God, I wish that you had thought this through. Before I went and fell in love with you.
I’m here with another song imagine!!
If you have any wishes or requests, let me know please.
