INTRODUCING ... IVY!

IVY (아이비) is a fictional South Korean girl group under P Nation. The group was formed through Mnet survival show, Ivy League. The group debuted on January 23, 2021 with five members: Yuri, Isla, Sol, Eva, and Chaerin. Their concept is based on the idea that they are the best and most versatile in the industry and thus are the ivies, referring to the American Ivy League colleges. Their songs are a mix of girl and teen crush with an emphasis on girl power and independence.

ivy league’s theme song. an absolute banger about the girls coming to take over the industry. they did an ot5 version after they announced the lineup but it just wasn’t the same.

week 5 on ivy league was “girl’s generation week” where contestants were split into two teams and each had to perform a random snsd song. group eye, consisting of yuri, chaerin, sol and jiha, performed mr. mr while group vee, jasmine, isla, eva, and mirae, performed i got a boy. people liked group eye’s performance more because they looked like a real group and not just people covering a song. also women in suits.

DARLING

on week 5 of the show, they did concept roulette where every duo would be assigned songs with wildly different concepts. EVELA (eva & isla) were grouped together to perform darling and they killed it. this performance singlehandedly pulled eva up from the bottom ranks and put her into a position to debut. just two cute girls dancing.

THE END

the final week of ivy league, each of the remaining 6 contestants got to release and perform their own original song. while most of the girls put out upbeat songs, yuri releases “the end”, a ballad about how even if this was the end of the line for her, she would still look back on it with a smile because of the people she met along the way. these mf judges were like “ehhh are you sure about a ballad????” and yuri was like “yes.” and the way. she murdered it. she had people in TEARS. everyone and their mom voted for yuri after this came out but she still somehow ended up at rank 5, which is a big reason whhy people believe the show was rigged.
