Chasing the dream, always striving and doing and wanting and learning! Admirable traits for sure, sometimes though I get tired, my brain overloaded not from the inner voices, the inner critique. It’s there for sure don’t get me wrong but actually the outside chatter is so much louder. The rabble rousers with both invited opinions and uninvited. Surely I’m too old for peer pressure. Probably too old to bow to it but honestly I’m too old and tired to have to receive it.

Empty vessels and all that, these days my vessel should contain either coffee or Prosecco and come with a large packet of crisps. Otherwise leave me alone! The key to tolerance might just be to only approach me with Prosecco and crisps?

The outside voices that weigh the heaviest are often the quietest. The solemn acknowledgments. The smiles of knowing, the ones who know me best who recognize where I’m happy with my horse. The really good ones can be good and bad, they can help me dissect a meander and spiral and at same time enjoy me enjoying the spiral. Less telling off and more along for the journey. Take an interest in my interest. These quiet supportive voices deflect the neigh sayers? (see what I did there!) Bouncing off the unsolicited offerings which honestly are usually someones projections of their own misgivings about their horses and situation. Mind your business!

I’ve decided with this horse no one is stealing my joy, the love of little steps forward, methodical moments of progress. So it’s limited promotion on social media, careful sharing of videos and milestones. The ones who know, know to contact me and the ones who don’t contact me don’t need to know.
