CAESAR THE MUSICAL INITIAL THOUGHTS AND ANALYSIS
intro is so good oh my good
the song feels very dynamic and has a good climax
voice mixing in ensemble is amazing and very high quality
one or two slant rhymes but nothing horrendous
oh my god brutus' va is amazing!
for the first part the melody repeats but the piano still makes it feel dynamic
when the beat comes in properly with the sax is so good
ceasar va is amazing too! so much talent
the key change is so smooth
the constant backing vocals in the key change are layered great
bringing back the melody from 'so political' at 1:10 sounded great
the spoken part from 1:15-1:40 has a very good atmosphere to it
bringing in antony felt smooth
MARK ANTONY'S VA IS INCREDIBLE
the drop when mark joins in after the initial fanfare is absoloutely outstanding
ensemble starting at "lets go dancing" is a blessing to my ears
after antony speaks, the switching-out-vocals bit is a good transiiton to a darker version of antony's initial melody. I like it.
"I know it because you are young" - antony's casting reinforces this theme due to being a higher pitched voice and it works great. This whole 'justification' bit is very nice
vocal's at 3:20 are absolutely GLORIOUS. they really emphasise the command caesar has over the situation.
the 'rest' 'best' rhyme and the rhythm in the speaking bit with calpurnia makes it feel very complete
THE CLIMAX AT THE END talking about the lupercalia feels like it's building to something and then stalls, so hopefully a big outburst at the start of the next song?
there wasnt, but it was even better. The intro is blues at it's finest. Lovely raspy sax with very dynamic drums.
This song is SOOOO GOOD and the va works great with it. So many inline rhymes!!! I love it!!! The rhythm is so dynamiccc
In the listing hate on caesar (lovely section btw) the rhyme is so good.
Second half is haunting with the minor second intervals and the focal shift between the high vocals and the low vocals. the mix is very skillfully done here.
'Rome will become an empire, is that what you desire?' 'I'd rather have more civil war than have this caesar claiming he's a king' Lyrics felt very strong here.

This ending felt great. The reference to the famous quote "Alia Iacta Est" (The die has been cast) was fun to see.
a great tonal shift to a quieter song after that crazy complex one.
The hihats and the little mini glissandos on the piano are sweet
pathetic fallacy shown through some instrument choice to make it sound more 'stormy'
lyrics are great and so is va as usual
lyrics have this great lexical field of storms etc.
LYRIC AND MELODY CALLBACK to 'Brutus' song' at the end feel very fitting
ough the tonal shift partway through is good.
grace is such a good singer and I love it
2:18 oh my god she is so talented for the vibrato on that note its so good
the switchup at 2:45 is amazing and makes the climax after feel more impactful
quicker singing in the buildup is good
OH MY GOOD GRACE 'CAESAR WILL DIE' that last note gets hit for SO LONG and FOLLOWS THE MELODY PERFECTLY

This was only my first listen, 100% I have missed a lot of stuff. First off this is amazing oh my god it's everything I ever wanted. All the voices are incredibly talented and I would say my favourite is either Mark Antony or Brutus. Caesar and Cassius are great too. The instrumentation has me drooling it's so good. The live band is amazing. Compositionally very interesting and dynamic, mix is great, yeah.
