A dark forest, a dark forest and not his living room with the blaring telly playing reruns of the real hustle. Brown eyes widened as he looked around from where he stood, not exactly how he expected his night to be. Mitchell frowned as he heard rustling of something and noticed a larger spider and a flash of red coming flying out of the trees and towards the ground.
“Bloody-” he yelled as he quickly dodged the two, landing on the dirt.ma soft groan came before he heard more rustling, quickly turning he noticed the spider scuttling towards him causing the vampire to tense, quickly looking for a weapon he scrambled to get up, curly hair a mess, and rugged looking he turned to the female, “A dagger, pass me one!” He yelled backing up, noticing the trees blocking his way from glancimg behind him. A soft tug from his memory hit him but he ignored it, the feeling of dread entering him.
“Hurry!” He added having no place to go anymore, he was not in good clothes to fight, he was in a simple black tank, and grey sweat pants with literally worn sneakers, he was not expecting this in the slightest! He just wanted to watch the real hustle, drink coffee and be lazy…this is not that he was loathing it.
Tauriel lay dazed for a moment, even though her fall had been slightly cushioned by the spider, as they had hit the ground harder than she had thought they would. And then she heard his voice. It couldn’t be...In her disoriented state, her stare captured the man in question, and found herself staring at a handsome man with mussed up curls and a fearful expression. He wore an odd assortment of clothing, and she cocked her head at him. Who was this man who seemed so familiar yet so strange? Hearing his voice made her think the impossible until she saw that it was not in fact a ghost come back to haunt her.
“If you think I’m giving you my weapon...” she shot back as she saw the spider beginning to move again. For a moment, just a brief moment, she paused and glanced down at her daggers with pure grief clouding her eyes. Kili wouldn’t have wanted this. Distrust, anger, solitude...this man did not seem like he worked for any enemy of hers. He looked truly confused and terrified to be there. Grabbing up her daggers, she slipped around the spider and stood between it and the man. As one of the legs came crashing towards her, she sliced at it and winced. Her arm was throbbing with pain, but she tried to ignore it.
“If I give this to you, you better know how to use it,” she offered one of her hands with her prized weapon to the stranger and glanced right into his face. Once again, she felt an unsettling sense of familiarity but tried to shake it off. “Do not make me regret this.”

The darkness that Mirkwood had battled against for so long was returning to the forest. The trees were dying and evil creatures were crawling back to terrorize the elves and any unsuspecting travelers on the road. Ever since the Battle of Five Armies, King Thranduil had reopened the forest for travelers and wanderers to pass through, having deemed it safe once more. However, upon the first reports of the eight legged demon creatures, he gave warning to those entering the forest that there was danger present and sent extra guards into the woods to keep watch. He would not make the same mistakes again.
Two long days of nonstop swordsmanship and archery was making the Captain of the Guard weary. As one of the largest inspirations for the warriors fighting alongside her, there was no time for relaxation or breaking away from her duties. Seeing these spiders return were a stab to the heart for Tauriel, as it brought up devastating memories of pain and loss...a loss she could not bear to think of. Because of this, she released all of her bottled up fury at the creatures and so her fighting style was less coordination and more unadulterated anger.
Sliding along from branch to branch, one of her daggers remained constantly at the ready, her sharp eyes capturing every movement around her from the wind blowing against the leaves to a bird soaring up into the sky. Her feet paused mid motion as soon as she saw it: a particularly gruesome and large spider, and it was hunting someone on the ground. Not on her watch.
“Oh, no you don’t,” she murmured fiercely, picking up the pace until she was running and jumping through the branches and the trees as hastily as possible to get to the blissfully unaware innocent before it was too late. Just as the spider prepared to spin itself downwards, Tauriel launched herself at it with daggers drawn and, as the weapons dug into the creature’s flesh, the she-elf sent both of them falling to the forest floor below.

“Won’t they notice us leaving?” Kili wasn’t in the mood to deal with others’ questions, and the glares they would receive. But then again, if he was truly dreaming, it wouldn’t matter. “It won’t matter, it’s a dream. Let’s go.” The dwarf agreed.
“I’ve spoken with Balin. He knows I am here,” Tauriel explained calmly, her eyes sparkling with the amusement at the thought that he still thought her a vision, a spirit of a dream haunting him. “He simply told me not to steal your attention for long.” Putting one sure foot in front of the other, she began to walk, never releasing his hand as she did so. “Dear Kili, still thinking I am no more than a thought in your head.” She bumped his shoulder with her arm and sighed to herself contentedly.

“Nothing...” Tauriel repeated, her voice no more than a frustrated murmur. Whomever put such a thought into the handsome, selfless dwarf deserved a severe talking to, at the least. If she ever came face to face with the party responsible, they’d better run. She tugged ever so gently on his fingers and gestured with her head in the other direction, placing a special smile on her face just for him. “Walk with me, and I shall tell you the reasons why you are wrong on the account of you being worthless.”

She had missed those kind and curious eyes, his smile which held much mischief and genuine happiness. “Close your eyes. I will still be here when they open again.”
