I love this piece because it reminds me that self-care is non-negotiable every day. Sometimes it's rewarding myself with something tangible that adds value to my life 👡💐, or giving my body and senses an uplifting experience💆🏾💃🏾. What shoes would you wear to march in? The female solidarity that's been in the air this past year has been incredibly moving to me. The Fall 17 collection took inspiration from women's rights movements of the past and present. Not just the marches and rallies but also the women behind the scenes fighting for policy change, and the ones writing powerful literature, creating powerful art, running businesses and cracking glass ceilings in the name of equality. My add on: if you wouldn't wear a certain pair of shoes to the museum, then you probably shouldn't be wearing them many other places on a regular basis either! Wear shoes that allow for self expression as well as freedom of movement! Truth: art shows are one of my favorite places to get dressed up for and to go to watch how other people dress.
