Ormoc City: The Hidden Gem of Leyte
1. Puente Dela Reina (Bridge of the Queen)
Puente Dela Reina is the Oldest Bridge in Ormoc City, built in the early 1800's during the Spanish colonial era. This historical bridge is being preserved to attract more tourist and share the stories behind it, this cobblestone structure was historically used as a docking and trading point for Chinese, Japanese, and Indonesian sailboats.
2. Piña Festival in Ormoc City: Honoring Heritage, Harvest, and Community:
This Festival is celebrated annually or in every June in Ormoc City, usually in line with Ormoc City's fiesta and peak Pineapple season. Dancers wears bright yellow, green, and gold costumes that represents the beauty of the Ormoc’s Pineapple. It honor’s farmers and agricultures also promotes agri-tourism and local livelihood.
3. The taste of Ormoc City Through it's Sweet Pineapple:
One of the famous delicacies in Ormoc City are those made of Pineapple Fruit. Ormoc city is very known for it’s sweet, juicy and aromatic Pineapple, often eaten fresh, sold sliced along the road, or brought home as pasalubong.
