Free clock, and I found a good spot for it!
I had to post this in our resort chat group, for the throwback to the days of LLB, Larry Longballs, as we called him. No, his name wasn't actually Larry, but I didn't know his real name.
Normally, none of us would ever poke fun at someone for something like that, but LLB was fair game since he intentionally did it to himself. And we're not talking standard-issue Old Man Balls™️. No, no... LLB used some weights and whatever to purposely elongate himself. And I say this with absolutely zero exaggeration: they were literally to the bend in his knee when he was standing up. One friend said he talked to him and that he said he was trying for a world record. I have no idea if that was just sarcasm or if he was serious. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was serious.
LLB was only here for a few months, then disappeared. Rumor has it that it was when he was told to remove his adornment. We saw him with it once. You know those tribes that put the rings around their necks to stretch their necks over time? It was akin to that. It looked like a mishap while trying to fuck a Slinky, or tea-bagging a garage door spring or something.
My friend's comment when she first saw him was, "Ok, so wait... if he was doing you from behind, wouldn't those swing up and smack you in the face??" 🤣
Our chat group is now having a good laugh at the picture and harkening back to those days when some were "lucky" enough to have been here when good ole Larry was.
I constantly get notices on my phone of movement detected in the backyard.
999 times out of 1000, it's the cheap-ass rubber mat under the pellet grill, or the carpet under the table, flapping in the breeze. Which, good, no one is in our yard, but still... I wish there was a way to filter those particular notices out 🤣
Occasionally we do get a neighborhood cat walking around the yard, or a bird bouncing along the patio.
Our front door cameras give movement notices too, and it's always cars driving by. Yay. I want notifications, just not ALL notifications
That's actually an interesting thought!

I wouldn't park it either. And you know what, usually I'm like "to each their own," but seriously, if your car looks like this, what in the actual fuck is wrong with you? Seek help.
They opened the first Bojangles in AZ a couple of weeks ago. I finally got around to trying it. People who know the chain from back east are lamenting that they're not selling their bone-in chicken in this spot. I would love to try that, but oh well.
I got their chicken sandwich, which I'll say was really damn good! It was like regular fried chicken, just in a boneless chicken breast form. It wasn't a standard chicken patty like other places.
I'm impressed enough that I'll try it again, at the restaurant instead of delivery.
Fries were pretty good, and their little round potato thingies (I forgot the name) were pretty damn good, too!
The "legendary" iced tea is ok, but I'm not much of an iced tea person, so WTF do I know?
Our condo cleaning person texted me yesterday, all done! I actually like having her go in there when we're not there. It makes it easier, and she doesn't have to work around us (especially Ozz)
Our house cleaning person is coming in about an hour. She hasn't been here since the end of May, just because of our weird schedule. It will be nice to have this place done. For the house, we've always insisted on being there. Not that we don't trust, just that it feels weird to me.
We have the condo done every three weeks, and the house is done typically every four weeks or so. The house definitely needs it. We're not messy (for the most part), but it needs a good cleaning, and we just don't have the time or energy to do it.
The condo, I maintain very well, but I'm so sick of all the damn dust, and dog fur requiring me to vacuum, not to mention the floor just gets filthy and it's easy to see in the light reflection, and sometimes I just don't have the motivation to grab the mop, move everything, and do it (even though I can do it in less than 30 minutes). But again, it also needs a bigger cleaning than what I do, so it's nice to have her come in.
We started using a cleaning service like 25 or 30 years ago. Best decision we made because man it was getting away from us 🤣
I still stand by this statement I made 11 years ago...

You know those videos of golden retrievers stealing things? Ever wonder if they're true? The answer is yes. Wholeheartedly. I mean, lots of dogs steal things. Goldens make it a life's mission.
Earlier today, maybe an hour or more ago, I was looking for a ball of twine on the shelf where I keep my BBQ supplies. I lifted and moved the pile of heat-resistant gloves.
About 10 minutes ago, I heard a single "YIP!!" come from the other room. Not knowing if Ozz was having a dream, or was waiting by the back door, I went to investigate.
I walked into the living room, and there he was, sitting on the couch, with a troublemaker look on his face, and one of the gloves in his mouth.
I'm not sure if the yip was "I'm SO excited right now!" or "HEY DAD I'VE BEEN CHEWING THIS FOR 20 MINUTES AND YOU HAVEN'T COME TO SCOLD ME AND TAKE IT AWAY YET! JUST FYI.....!!!!!" 🤣
Wow! I was talking about old commercials and informercials with someone recently and we were making fun of that guy Don Lapre from a bunch of old 80s informercials. "Place tiny classified ads in newspapers and [the money rolls in]"
I was wondering WTF ever happened to that guy since he used to be all over late-night TV, etc. Was not expecting THIS!
The dude was a colossal piece of shit (no surprise), and slit his own throat in jail a couple of days before he was supposed to go to trial
That would have been a fun movie! Madsen's Vic Vega (Mr. Blonde) from Reservoir Dogs, and Travolta's Vincent Vega from Pulp Fiction!
Friends of ours down in southern AZ had this fucker out on their back patio earlier. Their dog started barking a distinctive bark, so they knew... they went out there and, sure enough...
Sorry boss! No can do on that spreadsheet you need as I'm in-office today and we're specifically forbidden from working [rips bong]

I finally got my car over to the dealership for its service. It's been a year 😮. I didn't realize I was that past due.
I'm normally very on top of my standard maintenance. And I was fanatical back when I was driving to and from California all the time. Now I hardly go anywhere.
I work from home, so I don't regularly drive during the day. When I do, it's just errands, typically. The biggest trip I take nowadays is to and from the condo. That's 86 miles each way, and often when I'm there, I don't go anywhere! As an example, when I got down there at the beginning of the month, I flipped to 190,000 as I pulled into my parking space. When I dropped my car off today, I think I was at 190,200 (maybe 190,400) or something close. And 86 of that would have been the trip home a week ago, plus there was the trip into Phoenix for the concert the other night 🤣
Back when I still worked in an office downtown and drove to CA regularly, I was putting on 22k+ a year. When I pick the car up later, I should ask what my mileage was when I was there last time; I'm curious how much I've driven in the last year.
Hopefully, all is good, and I don't need gazillions of dollars in services. I know we've been monitoring old fluids (power steering, transmission, things like that). And I think we've been monitoring tire arm bushings and things like that. I really don't want a humungous bill.
Oh, but the loaner car they gave me is pretty sweet! A Lexus TX https://www.lexus.com/models/TX, which is close to a $60,000 large SUV 🤣 Maybe I won't be able to pick my car up today and will have to keep it overnight...
It's funny, when we saw the Stray Cats the other night, I was thinking that the guys were younger than I thought they were. I looked them up and saw that Brian is like 67, and Slim Jim and Lee are like 65. I'm 57 and always thought they were so much older than me
I realized this was because Stray Cat Strut came out in the very early days of MTV, like around 81/82. I would have been like 12, and these were men on TV, looking and playing 1950s-style rockabilly music, so they were "much older!" It's funny how our younger brains work.
I also realized that, while Brian and Slim Jim look like what I expect, just older, I couldn't remember what Lee (stand-up bass) looked like back in the day. He looks good, just looks like any ole guy on the street 🤣
So, I pulled up the Stray Cat Strut video and as soon as I saw him, I was like "Oh yeah!" Of the three, he looks the most different now. Not that any of us look like we did at that age, it's just you have something in your mind, ya know?
Also, NOW when I look at that video, I see "children." They look SOOOOOO young. They would have been 21 or 22, I guess. It's funny how the perspective works.
