We'll take the next chance...on and on.

That was the point you dolt! He knew what you two were doing pretty sure anyone that walked in the room that morning would have figured it out!  Poor Ben, at his point anything he said would ruffle this cockatoos feathers. “Insecurities? Men like me don’t have insecurities.” And the fact that after everything Galen was still with him did give him  confident edge but, he did still worry. Ben didn’t need to know that however.”We are two old men, there will be no children in our future.” Just a dog named button.  “Which would only make me want to stat making out with him on the spot.” she would try to spare her father that however. She just giggled softly at the thought. “I love you too, Papa. Though I can’t promise agreeing to any double dates.” She urned to lead hi back out into the living room.

“So you’re never afraid then that this is some elaborate ruse to get back at you by making it so you think you can’t live without him before he finds someone else who doesn’t come with all the emotional baggage?” At least he was trying rather hard to ruffle up the other man at the table and not just doing it accidentally. But then if he thought he was telling him anything Ben didn’t already know about Jyn’s past so far with relationships, he was mistaken. “But good for you. No fears or insecurities at all. If only I could be quite as confident at your age.”

Krennic gritted his teeth a little, no he knew Galen blamed him for Lyra’s death but having it so obvious was agitating a best. “If she bothers to keep you, how long have the two of you been together? She doesn’t keep boyfriends just over nighters. Did you just accidentally seep in to late and now your just covering your asses?” She smiles and and leans in to hug him and kiss his cheek. “And that is why you are the best.” she teased. But she would….oooh he would hurt and now with her political boyfriend it could all be covered up!  “Ben is a tough boy, he puts up with me so he ca handle Krennic. Just hope he doesn’t make your boyfriend cry to much.” She lowered her gaze then moved around Galen to collect the caf. “We’ve been seeing each other for some time, he was supposed to go home last night but we got to talking. He’s sweet. “

Ben knew if he immediately went to the defense that it was none of his business that he’d take it for slightly worse than it was. “She asked me to meet her father last night actually, so it was a bit of a last minute thing. But considering breakfast was ready when you arrived, I hardly think I slept in.” He would have had plenty of time to leave if Jyn hadn’t asked him to stay. He might have been in the same clothes as the night before but a quick fluff in the dryer at least, he thought, didn’t make them look like they’d been rumpled up on Jyn’s floor last night. “Are you sure you’re feeling rather confident about your own relationship and not projecting your insecurities onto me?”

“Her death was not f my doing, the rioters were warned, she got to close. An unfortunate accident. I assure you, though I do not owe you any explanation, Lyra was a spirited one.  She was good for Galen and I never wished him that pain.” He snorted and waved his hand. “On the contrary my boy he would be ecstatic but the two of you are wild fires that will not be put out. Dangerous a child is fragile. You could’t manage.” “You did Papa, seeing him here, in my own home.  But all that matters to me is that you are happy. And that if he hurts you I get to poke out his eyes. Promise me?” She steps back and smiles. “Papa, what do you think of him, Ben?”

“I didn’t say you were. Just that she holds you responsible and he didn’t argue otherwise.” But it was an interesting little explanation. Ben hadn’t really asked Jyn too much about her mother beyond the fact that she’d died when Jyn was younger. “Well I’m sure it will be a while before we find out just how wrong you are.”

“Yet you do not deny the act itself. My My Mr. Organa havn’t even met the father and already the two of you are indulging.” he went for his Caf again to be disappointed by its absence. “I wonder if Galen would forgive you, if she would forgive you.  Not that either of you should be allowed to spawn.” “Papa, you are my world my family. My first love. I can not stand the thought of ou in the arms of that man.” She whimpered then pressed her face between his shoulders. “Are you happy?” Yes you should have! She wanted to shout but being the source of his pain did not sit well in her heart. 

He wasn’t even going to start with the idea that they’d been indulging plenty before even being in a relationship. He was a one night stand gone wrong. “So far I’m not being held responsible for the deaths of any of her family members, so I take it that her father is the rather forgiving sort.” He didn’t know about Jyn other than she was smart enough to not solely blame him and he certainly wouldn’t go running off if something did come up. “Are you suggesting you’d never want to see him as a grandfather?”

Jyn held that had tightly, her rage was still on her face but her eyes were watering, her body shaking ready to burst. Her hand held Ben tightly as she took in a shakey breath. A knot was in her throat and she just sat there as she watched her father go. She sat there a moment then stood up quickly to chase after him. “I’ll be right back.” She said in passing leaving Ben behind as she slipped into the kitchen and stepped behind her father and wrapped her arms around him and rested her cheek against his shoulder. “Papa.” Krennic thought to go after galen but Jyn beat him to the punch. He didn’t dare follow after her and instead he glanced at Ben then gave him a once over. “I she gets pregnant you know that will look poorly on your mother. “ Gale wasn’ there to save you now! 

Ben was about to tell her to just take her time. She had snapped in a big way after all and leaving him alone with Krennic would either be fine or end up with them outside in a fist fight… Or perhaps just verbal. “You vastly underestimate how my mother would react to that sort of news.” It was his father that was more likely to flip over the idea that he was going to be a grandfather and too young for that sort of position. “I’m not some teenager sneaking around and forgetting to use protection or living under her roof any more. Any scandal that would come from her son having a child out of wedlock is rather minimal.”

“Perhaps if you hadn’t’ tried to monopolies all of his time I wouldn’t of had too. though now I’m beginning to wonder if it wan’t just his mind you wanted.” She was looking at them both now, addressing a rather awkward elephant in the room. She carefully reached for Ben’s hand under the table, both to warn him of the impending doom, and for strength. “How long has this been going on? The two of you. Did you at least have the decency to wait until after you killed My mother or where you two fucking behind her back?” Perhaps Krennic’s comments hadn’t quite warranted the outburst but…yes he did. They both did. She was trying to fake it, behave and just let her father be but her fuse was already so short.  Krennic grunted when kicked but still tried to look appeased as he went to reach for his caf only to find it was not where he put it. He looked down and frowned to realize that his cheeky over had snatched it from him. He gave a heavy sigh then looked t Ben. “Of course I was, but I never..” was allowed to do such things. “Saw reason to fear my parents forgetting me.” Because they didn’t bother to see him anyways.  But the subject had shifted and suddenly Krennic found himself in the hot seat. He nearly struck Jyn knowing what her words would do o Galen but he held still. “Miss. Erso, that is no way to talk to your father.”

Ben wondered if they’d been the sort to constantly hover around him then, telling anyone who would listen about their genius son and how he was going places. Or if they’d just never been there in the first place and forgotten him the moment they could get a nanny… He squeezed onto Jyn’s hand however when she took it, not quite expecting the utter storm that followed. He was purposefully avoiding all eye contact at that point. She was justified, but ouch.

Well there went any and all desire to eat anything further as Galen lowered his fork. He’d deserved that but he had hoped to save it perhaps for just after breakfast and suggesting they could go do the dishes. At least then there wouldn’t have been the audience involved (though already he was getting about the same amount of support from Krennic as he would have with that suggestion: little to none as a hand just went up to hopefully silence him from further comment).
