Saying “no” isn’t easy, but it is necessary for your wellbeing and it will provide room for the things you actually want. Keep in mind you do not need to justify your reason for saying no. Here are some examples:

Thank you for thinking of me, but I have too much on my plate right now.

Not for me, but thanks.

Not today, but thank you.

I appreciate you thinking of me, but I’m afraid I’m already booked that day.

I don’t have time right now. Let me recommend someone who may be able to help you.

I want to do that, but I’m not available until ______.

Thank you for asking, but that isn’t going to work out for me.

I can’t put anything else on my calendar this month.

Thank you, I’ll have to pass on that.

I really appreciate you asking me, but my time is already committed.

This sounds like a great opportunity, but I have to pass. Thank you for considering me.
