Engine roaring beneath him and making it difficult to hear, Yamato leans closer when Takiishi pokes firmly into his hip.

"I want a garden, Endo Yamato."

It's a good thing Takiishi tells him that right when they're arriving home, or Yamato might have caused a swerve. The thought of Takiishi suddenly becoming interested in having a garden because of Umemiya makes him want to pull his hair out but Yamato would never dream of denying Takiishi his wishes.

"... Of course," he finally answers, turning off the engine and taking off his helmet with a crooked smile. "But, uh, Takiishi, 'ya ain't really into vegetables, are 'ya?"

Takiishi hops off of the sidecar and tosses his own helmet towards Yamato, who easily catches it. "No. I want a flower garden."

Yamato lights up instantly, happy to know Takiishi still knows what he wants instead of just doing what Umemiya does. "Oh, that's great! Flowers are nice. I'll get started on it right away! What kind of flowers do 'ya want?"

"Pretty ones," the blonde simply answers, turning to stare at Yamato. "With pretty colours."

"I see~ Do 'ya have any particular colours in mind? If not, I can pull up some photos for you to choose from!"

To his confusion, however, Takiishi only keeps staring intently at him for a moment too long, and Yamato is about to open his mouth to offer more suggestions on how they should start working on the garden—until Takiishi says:

"Teal."

Yamato blinks once, twice, then feels his blood rush up to his cheeks and ears too quickly in shock. "Wha—I—"

Expression changing into wonder, Takiishi's gaze moves down from Yamato's eyes, just slightly, staring at something else on Yamato's face. "Pink... and red, too."

Yamato's heart nearly jumps out of his chest at the unsubtlety. As if it wasn't already enough indirectly telling Yamato that his eyes and blush look pretty, Takiishi actually goes and stands in front of him, gazing down at him and lifting a hand to curiously caress Yamato's cheek. "T—Takiishi...?"

He tilts his head just a bit. "Have you always been this pretty?"

Yamato promptly faints.

(Later, he wakes up to find himself lying on the living room sofa, very soon feeling his heart rate quicken upon realizing Takiishi had carried him there.)

It really wasn’t supposed to happen. It was supposed to just be spending time with Sakura…All Endo was talking about was why he fell for Sakura and him getting all flustered…Why did Sakura have to ask how it was different loving him than loving Chika…Maybe he shouldn’t have answered. Maybe he should have changed the subject. But at that moment his thoughts just poured out: “Because it finally felt like I was on the receiving end of the love I want so badly…I just want to be given the same love— at the very least the attention…that I give out.”

Endo had only been talking to a flustered Sakura about how he fell for him—but then Sakura actually became curious about it, and, albeit shyly, he asked Endo how loving him was different from loving Takiishi.

Maybe he shouldn’t have answered. Maybe he should have changed the subject. But at that moment, his thoughts just poured out.

"With you... I was finally being given back the love and attention I've wanted so badly."

After a beat, Sakura's expression changed as he turned to look up at Endo with furrowed brows and hurt eyes, staring at him like he didn't want to believe what he just heard.

"... So you... just wanted to be in a relationship because I pay attention to you...?"

Endo's eyes widened, and for the first time in his life, he panicked.

"N—no I, I mean—yes, that's part of it, but that's not the one and only reason I—"

"Then, you don't actually like me for who I am, do you?"

Sakura got up on his feet and Endo quickly followed, grabbing his hand before he could leave—but then Sakura was looking up at him with quivering lips and tear-brimmed eyes, and his grip loosened in shock.

Endo never knew watching someone run away from him in tears could hurt so much.
