For my Final major project I chose to create a short film/trailer for a Sci-Fi Horror idea I had. With this project I wanted it to be my best piece of work, with a lot of varying effects where I feel my skills suits best. I made sure this was my best project yet learning from all my previous mistakes, booking the best equipment available and having a good plan of what I wanted to make. The time we had to make this project was long enough to allow me to make a high quality film, and I feel I reached that goal.Ā
One of the major obstacles for this project was that I didnāt really know nuke so with the help of Rosie, I pushed my self to learn it, and within a couple of days I was feeling so confident and now I really love the structure and work flow of it. I feel that on this project I have really pushed my skills further creating a more polished and finished piece.Ā
Another problem was composing the matte painting. I really had issues getting it right, where I really wanted to use my own photos, when I took them I really wasn't prepared and hadn't planed exactly what I need so I was struggling to create an interesting compositing. After lots of talks with Chris I managed to find one that was really working, and I am so happy with the result.Ā
If I had more time on this project I would have done a few more shots, I feel the ones I have done are really polished and maybe a few more shots would add to the story. I also would have maybe spent more time on the grading as to really finish it, more time could have been spent to make it that bit more visually appealing.Ā
I had a lot of fun working on this project, with so much variety of shots and work, it kept me excited. Overall I feel I have learnt so much, and created one of my best pieces.Ā
