The Supreme Court is extremely political, it is not impartial, and it has and continues to be a defacto unelected legislative body.

When they uphold a ban on transfems in women's sports, they are not doing that because they care about the law, in fact the law as written would actually make it illegal, they are doing it because they seek to uphold cis patriarchy.

I reply to explain that trans women are (and should be) centered in conversations about transphobia because they are treated worse and have worse sociopolitical outcomes. as politely as I am able while still conveying the relevant information

within the span of an hour this person and a separate transmasculine person reply to this comment to argue this. the creator of the video, who is also transmasculine btw, likes the comment I was disagreeing with and deletes mine.

It happens to trans women constantly, also.

That's not to diminish it.

It's one of the more vitriolic forms of hatred in this day and age.

But to call it "transandrophobia" instead of transphobia implies it does not also happen to us.

That's like saying that stating black people suffer from racism implies that Asian people don't.

It's just a separate word used to describe specifically the hatred and discrimination against trans men.

anti-Blackness and anti-Asian/AAPI racism is different. But, I can think of a bunch of aspects of both these types of racism that makes them distinct. To reduce both types of racism to just "racism", and saying that only the aspects that's they have in common are what we call racism, and discard the differences, we would be erasing important aspects of both.

there are differences between anti Blackness and anti AAPI racism. The way that the people affected experience both phenomena comes with unique experiences on both sides. There is also overlap, as the both are fundamentally racism.

Trans men and trans women both experience transphobia. Again, this shouldn't be controversial.

There are oppressive experiences that trans women go through that are seperate from transphobia, because they are experienced only by trans women, trans men don't need to worry about them. Those experiences make up what we call trnasmisogyny.

It has also been posited that there exists transandrophobia, experiences that trans men go through that trans women dont.

What are they?

Well, medical misogyny is one. There are experiences going to the doctor that trans men experience that trans women dont. They share those experiences with cis women, and sometimes also face transphobia when trying to access those healthcare things because people discriminate against them in these spaces based on them being and looking like men.

But, like, that doesn't show that there is anything happening there that is not already accounted for under the frameworks of transphobia and misogyny.

As a result, this example definitely doesn't show its existence, it gives me the impression that it's function is moreso to erase and talk over trans women.

I think it is as "real" as any other term for a theoretical concept used to refer to social dynamics in the physical world.

The fact that you feel confident explaining the oppression that transmasculine people "posit" transmasculine face, despite not being transmasculine, does not give an overall impression of your rhetorical honestly - especially considering how you've been liking posts that claim transmasculine people raising awareness of issues specific to transmasculine people is inherently a transmisogynistic hate campaign.

Are both transmisogynistic! See how quick they jump to claim transphobia to instead be exclusively transandrophobia (excluding transfems from their experiences of transphobia which we do, in fact, experience) and their reductive attitudes towards the discussion of transmisogyny making it just "transphobia for girls" when it isn't! See how they IMMEDIATELY resort to hystericizing a transfem for disagreeing with them in a civil manner?
