Weeding can be a tedious job, but it doesn't have to be when spraying weed killer consistently once a fortnight is the recommended amount to keep weeds to a minimum.

We are welcoming another client to our fortnightly maintenance family. I'm excited to see this garden start its transformation. The lawn looks pretty sad, but it has a healthy body which means that this lawn will come back in no time.

So this is the new rental i have moved into, and i have applied my method to the front lawn all i have done over four weeks is mowed it once at a high height and watered it twice each time for an hour. I also did not water after the heat that we just had.

To get you lawn better drought tolerant water your lawn deeply and infrequently this means you want to water enough for the water to soak deep into the soil. Enough to be protected from evaporation and then distant enough for the top layer of soil to dry out, so you encourage the roots of the lawn to grow deeper to get moisture deep in the ground.

4 Simple steps to get beautiful, healthy roses.

1. Correct pruning. (If you don't know-how, a quick search on YouTube will show you).

2. Keep a rose pesticide/diease spray on hand just in case. (Bunnings can help you out).

3. A Rose fertiliser. (Bunnings can help you out).

4. Watering deeply and infrequently, for generally all plants, you want the roots to chase the water down.

I am not the biggest fan of artificial lawn, but it does look great 😅 one of the biggest problems is foot traffic flattening it. But that can be fixed by regular blower vacking and or an outdoor vacuuming with an outdoor vacuum.

I'm pretty sure this is a Veronica franciscana it is a beautiful little flower, and if maintained right i believe it would make a stunning hedge in summer!

If you mow your lawns and your lawnmower cannot mulch do not mistake leaving lawn cuttings on your lawn as mulch. It will not benefit your lawn and increase thatch. That's why i love my Honda lawnmower and its mulch setting, which makes up for 25% of your lawns nutrients and mineral needs for the year.

English Ivy can be such a nuisance if left uncontrolled, but with regular maintenance, they can make excellent hedges, love this one at one of my Fortnightly Maintenance jobs 💚

Do You Have Conifers In Your Garden?

If you do be sure to keep an eye out for branches dying, snap them off and have a look to see if you have cypress bark weevil beetles they are very slow to kill your conifer but they can if left uncontrolled. Simply cut off any dying branches and dispose of properly. It also helps to keep your conifers well water, fed, and some mulch around to help hold in moisture.
