the focus on the female characters this episode. dana taking care of the female sa patient, despite what seems to be some kind of personal history that might be triggering her. the female advocate and emma being there to support the survivor too. the reveal that baran was likely a survivor of a terrorist attack that specifically targeted mothers, women. trinity taking care of baby jane doe. the reveal about trinity's struggles with sh. samira's empathy, her intelligence, her level head, her drive to fix a broken system, at the forefront of the entire episode. mel's gentle and steady leadership when she can tell something is wrong with langdon. joy refusing to be talked over or out-performed. cassie ensuring the wishes of her female cancer patient aren't superseded by her husband's desires. princess taking on a leadership role at a second's notice. parker sleeping at the hospital because she gives this job everything she has and more. victoria feeling, and maybe actually being, out of control of her future, trying to be a good daughter for her parents. wow. wow wow wow this episode is so dear to me.

on another note i don’t really get why people are so up in arms about robby and santos mentor relationship or people calling them father/daughter. like if your problem with the latter is because you want to be self righteous about people “putting a nuclear family dynamic on everything” then maybe just don’t engage w this post because that’s just a ridiculous thing to say about someone light-heartedly saying they have father/daughter vibes but for people who have a problem without it outside of that…. why? I think Trinity having an adult man in a position of authority over her who she feels comfortable with and can actually trust is something extremely monumental for her. We know she has a distrust of authority of all genders but especially has been taken advantage of and abused by men who have power over her both in her background lore and what we saw on screen in season one so why are people mad that in 10 months she has been able to learn to trust Robby and he’s been a good mentor to her. I think the assumption that they’re just bonding over disliking Al-Hashimi is unfair because Robby was singing Santos’ praises in episode 1 of this season and she obviously felt comfortable enough with him to be vulnerable about the young girl she thought was being abused. Their relationship was established over the course of ten months, not the second Al-Hashimi showed up.

what if we were both doctors and we met in the er during a mass casualty event and after all the chaos we got put on a measles case together and in order to save our patient's life we have to go against his anti-vax mom's wishes and now almost a year later we're being sued together by the bitch mom for saving her son's life and we're both gay and in love?
