This reference is pretty self explanatory. When drawing a hero with electric/lightning powers you have to have one references for when the hero uses them. This is also a good reference for the story of Farstrike because it relates to the backstory.

For the hero Farstrike, he stays inside for months fearing going outside. The second image could be used to show him going outside for the first time in awhile (sun too bright, covering with hand). The first image could be a good reference for the backstory of him reaching for his friend as they are struck by lightning.
These are good running references (with two different perspectives I like) for drawing a superhero running to the rescue.
This reference could also be used for a hero/villain retreating from the fight.
This is the first reference photo for the superhero Farstrike.
In his backstory his grandmother suffers from a heart attack, so this would be a good reference for drawing that.
To create this glitch I used the app Photomosh. I experimented with the effect rainbow (which adds a rainbow filter to the image), shake and pixelate. Personally this is one of my favourite pieces I did for this mini assignment because the glitch is very interesting. I love how the TV is pixelated, almost like whatâs on the TV is coming out into reality. One other aspect I like about this are the colours (such as the green on the TV and the purple, blue, green surrounding it) that were created, it makes the TV seem like its breaking or its starting to become corrupted.Â

For this piece I used the app Photomosh. I experimented with hue and saturation, and many other effects to give a dark colour and a bit of blur. Personally I like how the TV looks corroded, almost like its lost power. I also think the dark colours give a creepy feeling to the image, it makes me think of something that might be in a horror game. The aspect that is âbrokenâ for me is that the TV looks like it is shut off (almost like it wonât be able to turn on again).
I used the app JPG Glitch to create this image. For this process I mostly experience Ted with the effects they gave you. I enjoyed seeing the different colours I could create by changing the scales/power for the effects. With this art I love how the face is broken up into different parts, I also love how with this brokenness thereâs lots of contrast between the different colours. Personally what I love so much about this piece is how it represents a broke feeling. When I think of happy faces I think of a bright, perfectly round yellow smiley face. But with this glitch it gives the piece a more âunhappyâ look, for me I feel the feeling of pretending to be happy because the happy face is broken.
For this glitch I used the glitchatron app. I choose an image of an old phone because I thought it would make for a nice looking glitch (mixing modern and old aspects always look cool). This image is broken in a way where in places the image is cut off and reassembled slightly off from the rest of the image (this creates an effect that some part of the telephone arenât lined up), it is also corrupted in terms of colour. Where there should be a brown phone with a neutral background, thereâs bright colours such as pink and yellow, which makes for a cool effect of bright colours that contrast with the neutrals and blacks. These were created by playing with the effects the glitchatron gave you, I mostly experimented to get an image I liked.Â

this animation is a great example of kinetic typography. What this is, is a technique used by animators. The text moves and slides to form a conversation or an emotion of some kind.
Hereâs another older piece for ya - lyrical micrography of the cover for Breaking Benjaminâs album âWe Are Not Alone.â They just released another new album today, and Iâm sitting here on a train listening to it while reminiscing to the good old days in high school when I used to spin their old stuff every day. Music is great, guys.
(Lyrical micrography, comprised of lyrics from all songs off of Breaking Benjaminâs 2004 âWe Are Not Aloneâ album. Pen and ink.)

This piece is micrography. It uses words, phrases, lyrics and other text to create a finished artwork. These pieces, although only using words can show great detail and shading.
This piece is also a great example of using contrast. If the artist were to use colour you might not be able to read some of the words/sentences.Â

Things this photo makes me think of: Cute, lovely, love, where are you going?, meow, come back!, heart, red, life is better with a cat, kitty
(For the typography/text project)
Size: 1080x1920
This photo makes me think of: Cat, cute, meow, blush, blue, love, human I request your love, sometimes I panic and think thereâs a crazy person in my house...then I realize itâs just me, in a catâs eye...all things belong to a cat, kitty
This is an excellent example of black lettering (characterized by highly decorated lettering and thick bold strokes, they are also often seen in gothic old English pieces)
Like the post before this, this piece also uses contrast with the gray lettering to the black lettering to enhance the complexity of the artwork. Using this design principle, one can create a creepy or cold vibe within the art.
This type is called monospace. Monospaced type is when each character occupies the same amount of (horizontal) space.
This piece is a great example of using the elment of contrast to make your piece more interesting even when it is simplistic. Personally I love when contrast is used in art pieces and typography because I love the look and the vibe/mood it emits.
This piece titled Dollar A Gallon (quite a fitting name) by Virgil Abloh, is quite interesting.Â
What I thought of when I first saw it, was that the sculpture looked like it was made out of redish-brown clay (clay you fight find in the Grand Canyon or some place else known for the beautiful types of clay it has). This then made me think of deserts and drier areas of the world. This got me imagining those scenes out of movies where the main character is driving or walking in the deserts and they stumble upon a small vintage town.Â

This type is classified as sans serif.
The principles of design being used in this piece are unity and pattern. Both the background and the type are the same colour/colour palette, which gives this piece a sense of unity. Secondly, pattern is being used in the background to make the piece less simple and more interesting.

This type is called script.
The principle of design, repetition is being used to make this advertisement interesting and less simple. In this example of script typography, contrast is also being used to draw your eyes to the billboard. This makes it more eye-catching and an interesting ad, which is important for marketing since you want people to be drawn towards the message you are trying to sell.
